“Great location, small rooms”
Reviewed 30 August 2014 via mobile

Nice and clean hotel with helpful staff. Location could not be better for sightseeing, it is only approx. 400mm from Hagia Sophia and other major attraction.
The only downside is very small room size and busy breakfast at the sister hotel next door

This hotel could have gotten a great review if management wasn't so blind to the fact that people expect to get what they booked. We were 3 guys, me (I am Turkish), my nephew and my best friend.

We booked a deluxe triple deluxe room, which the pictures show with three equal sized full size beds. When we arrived one wasn't available so they wanted to put us in a room with 1 full 1 queen bed, we said no, so they put us in a family room which was fine. Count: Room 1.

They said they would move us into the proper room the next day when we were out, we said okay, only to arrive back at our new 2+ 1 room where we had to pretty much step on the beds to get around. Count: Room 2. We complained they said we had to talk to management which was not in the first day or the second or the third.

Day 4: my friend talks to the manager whose logic is that , well no one in Istanbul does triple rooms anymore, as if it were OK to advertise and book one but not have one. So they move us into a larger 2+1. Count room: 3. The air conditioning broke down and did get fixed.

The staff, who were very friendly sent us a fruit bowl. The rooms and terrace are nice, breakfast is good, prices are good.

With decent management this hotel could be a great deal.

Great location, good rooms, good price, nice staff, very poor management.

Room Tip: Check your room before you give them your money.

I recommend all those who are travelling to Istanbul to try out Arden Park/City Hotel. Its best thing is its location in the old city & closeness to all the famous tourist spots in the city, Ayasofia, Basilica Cisterns, Topkapi, Blue Mosque etc.
Everything about this hotel, its service, cleanliness, helpful receptionists, and ofcourse a wonderful breakfast :)..everything was just perfect. Will definitely choose to stay with them again, the next time I return to Istanbul.

We were staying in Istanbul one night before flying back out and were looking for a cheap place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel, which had clean rooms and was so centrally located to Istanbul's main attractions (the Basillica Cistern, Haya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topika Palace). The breakfast in the morning was also pretty good. Would certainly recommend to others.

With Expedia I booked a deluxe double room , but I found a very small room , bed for one and a half, small bathroom, there was no space for luggage. We immediately asked to be moved to a room with a double bed as our booking but the receptionist told us that it was impossible and that in Sultanahmet all rooms of the hotels were of that size . In the evening we found that the restaurant on the terrace of the Hotel Arden Park, seen on Expedia , there is no work-in - progress - but you can find it in Arden City Hotel adjacent sister hotel , which is also the place where you eat breakfast , rich but not great.
I must also say that the next day, thanks to the availability and kindness of Lady AHU (new receptionist ) who understood our problem we got a room a bit ' bigger. This has allowed us to spend our vacation with peace of mind , and from that moment has always been supported by the tips of the new receptionist .
We therefore appreciate the positive sides of the structure that is the friendliness of the staff , the professionalism of the SPA , the cleanliness of the rooms and the location was great , within walking distance of St. Sophia and Sultanahmet attractions therefore recommend this Hotel.

My wife and I came to Turkey on a honeymoon trip; we stayed for 4 nights late January at Arden Park in Istanbul. We had an early CheckIn. The front desk staff were very friendly (special Thanks to Ahu) helped us arrange our daily plans around Istanbul.
The location of the hotel is PERFECT, from 5 minutes walk to HagiaSophia & BlueMosque to 20 minutes walk to GrandBazar...
Would definitely return to Arden Park whenever we head to Istanbul again :-]
