The best things about this hotel are its location--it is right across from the Cankurtaran Train Station (near the Marmara Sea) and at the bottom of a hill that leads up to Sultanahmet. There is a city-subsidized eating facility (Cankurtaran Sosyal Tesisi) on the Marmara sea side (with the famous Kennedy Avenue or Coastal Road running alongside). It doesn't serve alcohol, but provided a couple nights of relatively inexpensive fish dinners for us.

The bottom floor of the hotel has a clear view from the street and there is ample on-site video surveillance. This is where the hotel serves its ample European/Turkish style breakfast.

The room was fairly spacious and very clean, this quality being helped by its wood floors. The biggest drawback from our vantage was the fact that our back room on Floor 1 (the second floor) had no windows whatsoever, so we had to run the cooler just to keep air circulating. We were told this is why the room was listed as economy, but in that case, the price per night should have been cut in half in my opinion (of course, lodgings in larger surrounding area are not all that cheap-this being Old City Istanbul in 2011-and if they appear to be bargains, don't trust them). While the bellboy or whoever grabbed our small bag on the first night and brought it to our room probably expected a gratuity for his unnecessary assistance, he did nothing to show us how anything worked and got nothing in return--we never saw him again anyway. Fortunately, the desk staffer was very helpful, delivering extra bedding on request and showing us how to work the equipment.

Room Tip: Take only a front room if you want a window

The hotel is brand new, approx a couple of months old, therefore was very clean with modern furnishings.
Rooms are very clean and spacious with good facilities.Bathroom is ensuite and again clean with all the amenties.
Staff were all friendly and willing to help, particularly Emrah and Taner.
Hotel is close to Marmara sea (2 min walk) and the blue mosque is only around 7 min walking distance if not less.
Photos are available on booking.com, can't seem to see them on Trip advisor
Would definitely stay here again if I was to visit Istanbul.
