“Very nice hotel, excellent service!”
Reviewed 5 October 2012

The HHK Hotel is a small, sympathetic hotel, with an excellent service. Breakfast is very nice, rooms are very well cleaned, they give you all the help you need to visit Istanbul.

Neighborhood needs to be develloped, but you are three streets away from a big moskee.

View from the terrace is incredible.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not located at the reception or downstairs. Rooms on the second floor are lar...

We really enjoyed our stay at HHK, were we found the staff, food and views to be amazing. The staff were really helpful in helping us book other transport around Turkey and accommodating with taxis ect. We live in London so except the call to prayer in the morning-which we found beautiful and obviously a very important part of life in Turkey and Muslims- we found the hotel to be really quiet, in a peaceful part of Istanbul.

We hope we are able to come back soon! In terms of a romantic, beautiful place for a honeymoon this hotel ticks all of the boxes and then some. Thanks!!!!

A beautiful experience in a lovely old fashioned Ottoman style palace, clean and cozy, with friendly and caring staff. It is a little out of the way but so worth it! The terrace is an amazing drink to sit back, relax and enjoy a drink with a view of the Bosphorus. There is a tiny pool but it was too cold to get in. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay there in the future.

This old ottoman house is situated in an authentic part of Istanbul on a hill from where you have a lovely view over the Bosporus and the Golden Horn. It is on walking distance from all the main attractions and if you don't know what to do or where to go the excellent hotel staff will advise you. Otherwise you stay on the terrace with a drink and enjoy looking at the bustling traffic below.
The rooms arebeautifuly restored, the breakfast copious and overall we can recommend this hotel to anyone who wants something other then standard.

This is basically a very good hotel with excellent staff and public facilities. The building is attractive and the decor in the rooms characterful with furnishings to a high standard. We were upgraded to a superior seaview room in the annexe-type building, but this had its own problems. Our sleep quality was seriously affected by the morning call to prayer from the nearby mosque at about 5am. The blinds on the window, although of high quality, did not shut out the light effectively due to being slightly too small. We found the bed was hard. They did offer us a change to a standard, much smaller room in the main building, but it felt very claustrophobic and so we decided to stay in the superior room hoping that we would get used to the light and noise. Unfortunately these continued to be a problem and explain my rating.
However, if you are not worried about this kind of thing, I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Be aware that the standard rooms are quite small.

Before reading this short review, you have probably looked at the photos and read some
information of this old wooden Ottoman mansion turned into a very charming boutique hotel.
So you know how beautiful it is looking like and which are its modern amenities including a
swimming pool.
After a very happy fortnight stay at HHK we can confirm the outstanding qualities of this place
and its extraordinary situation in spite of the immediate neighbourhood partly in ruin and ongoing public works.
However the two trumps of HHK are its fantastic view and its crew. From the hotel you have a
view from the Golden Horn to the Bosphorus with as special attraction the permanent ballet of
ferries transporting the population between the old, the modern town and the Asiatic side of
Istanbul, further away the berthing of big cruise ships and transiting tankers and container ships on the Bosphorus.
About the staff and personnel of HHK, they are really remarkable. They are very friendly,
cheerful, helpful, attentive and engaging. They make you feel as a very special welcome host
and as a real pacha.
We sincerely felt sorry leaving HHK and hope to be back once again.

Room Tip: with sea view

The hotel is converted from a traditional Ottoman house, on a hillside with winding streets like the ones described in the guides, so the atmosphere is intimate with personal service. The friendly staff made useful suggestions for our trips and helped with taxis when needed. The view across the Golden Horn and over the Galata Bridge is stunning and grabs the attention from the room or the balcony. We enjoyed the breakfasts and evening meal we had there. The New Mosque and spice market are quite close but the hotel provides a tranquil haven after a busy day sight-seeing. The area is very mixed, some houses renovated and some rather dilapidated, but we felt safe wandering round seeing real Istanbullis working and playing outside their homes.
