We went to this after the Hagia Sophia. It is amazing to think that this was built in a very short period of time. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside the Mosque in the evening when the Muezzin would sing the call to prayer. We are not followers of Islam but it was very interesting to hear. The evening one is to my mind the most impressive one. Inside the Mosque the decorations are minimalist. Cover-up clothing is provided to the ladies and it is important to remember that relative quiet should be followed since it is a religious building. The areas for ablutions are also interesting and are found outside the mosque towards the main street.
