“Smallish but beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

We visited this mosque during a weekday just prior to Ramadan and it was worth the visit. The tiles are stunningly beautiful and the architecture very nice. It may be hard to find but is well worth it.

“Most beautiful mosque I have visited”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

We almost passed by this mosque on our way down from Suleymani mosque. It is a bit hidden inside a very busy area. We found one of the entries and we were very lucky because nothing prepared us to this small, but amazing place.
Blue tiles on the outside and inside make this mosque really one of a kind.
Make sure you get information about it before you go, as it is not very easy to find, but definitely worth a trip.

Lovely inside. Be aware of dress requirements. And check prayer times. Beautiful building and surrounds.

“Most Beautiful Mosque in Istanbul!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

Although small, this is easily the most beautiful mosque in Istanbul.

The interior is covered in Iznik tiles, like the Blue Mosque. Unlike the Blue Mosque, however, Rustem Pasa is peaceful, doesn't smell like feet, and doesn't have the annoying chandeliers that block your view of the dome.

“the best examples of Iznik tiles”

Hard to find the access; it's a doorway, with stairs going up, marked with the mosque name on a little plaque on the street wall
