The building itself is worth seeing. Unfortunately most of the sections are closed due to the restoration. One or two hours will be enough now. After the restoration, you definitely need a half day in the museum. Do not miss the Orient museum at the entrance. The first peace agreement of the world is there.

Massive - Turkey's archaelogical history is so rich, deep and explansive you will need at LEAST half a day to take in this amazing, interesting museum. Seriosuly, should not be missed. Near the Topkapi Palace - I suggest spending half a day at each.

I adore antiquities, so of course, I loved the museum. We stumbled onto it while walking in Gulhane Park and really enjoyed it.
