Excellent non-smoking room. Staff is exceptionally helpful. Great location. I have stayed in many InterContinental Hotels over the years. This is definitely one of my finest experiences to date. I have been most impressed with the helpfulness of the staff.

Stayed at the InterContinental for a couple of nights at the conclusion of a cruise. We found the hotel to be quite comfortable, and the staff friendly and accomodating.

We ate breakfast at the breakfast buffet, which was ample and quite varied. We liked the various sections: the Turkish, the Asian, etc. Quite a variety.

Ate lunch in the downstairs cafe (sorry, don't remember name right now) Food very tasty, and servers attentive and friendly.

Dinner upstairs at Safron, with a commanding 270-degree of Istanbul. Wonderful food, with (again) great servers, and live music. It might have seemed pricey based on menu cost, but the overall experience delivered ten times the value, so it was really worthwhile.

Rooms are spacious. We had a view of the city and also the hotel swimming pool, which looked (and was!) quite inviting in the 30-degree C heat.

Enjoyed a Turkish Bath in the hotel's Spa, and would strongly recommend that experience to everyone. My only regret was that it was at the tail end of the sumptuous dinner at Safron - I should have left more time in between the experiences! :-)

Hotel location is very near Taksim Square, and its many connections to Istanbul mass transit. You can easily get from Taksim to just about anywhere you want to go, all by public transport. If you would prefer, though, the hotel will glady arrange for private transport also, of course.

We would stay here again.

Our stay at the Intercontinental Istanbul was absolutely amazing! Upgraded from city view room to a bosphorus view room which had the most amazing view over the water. The room was much bigger than all of the other European hotels we had stayed in so far and the bed was the best part - so so comfortable! The pool was great - so relaxing in such a busy city. It was my boyfriends birthday and we had dinner at Safran (Turkish food) which was just great - the restaurant is on the roof and looks over the whole city - food was great! We didn't see much of the Taksim area as we were mostly sightseeing in the old city however it is very easy to jump in a cab outside of the hotel and they are very cheap! Had a great lunch in the Veranda restaurant. Wifi was free and very fast! Travelled in July 2014 and stayed as a couple.

Good location and an impressive lobby, but unfortunately the rooms are out of the 90's and need refurbishing and modernization. Wood furniture badly worn out, curtain falling of the rail not repaired for 2 days. Coffee table with extremely sharp edges cut me on arrival. Mind you this is a Club Room!!! Wonder what standard rooms are like?

Lovely hotel, exceptional staff, but rooms smell like smoke. City Lights Bar on roof was fun and the view spectacular. Close to the pedestrian shopping street and a wonderful restaurant the hotel recommended.

Room Tip: Our room had a full view of the Bosphorus Strait. Very very nice. A C was quiet and appreciated.
