We stayed for three days at the Ciragan Palace and it could not have been a more sublime place to visit. It was like being a Sultan. 24 hour butler service and the most romantic atmosphere one could imagine. The private living quarters of the Palace have been converted to a luxury hotel. The food, service, views, rooms where delightful. The best hotel experience we have ever experienced and we travel often throughout the world.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. My room was wonderful, the lobbies are great, the pool area was lovely, and the view of the Bosphorous was outstanding. However, nearly all interactions I had with staff members were extremely slow by American standards. Check-in took half an hour. A request for an item from the front desk took 45 minutes to arrive in my room. Coffee and juice requests at the breakfast buffet took much longer than in even low quality US restaurants. If you want a lovely location and don't mind slow (but friendly) service, I recommend the Ciragan.

This is one of the top 3 hotels in Istanbul. It is quite expensive but luckily my employer has an arrangement with this hotel so whenever we visit Istanbul, we stay at Ciragan.
Apart from the magnificient bosphorus setting, its location is excellent for discovering the city. It is a 5 min walk to Ortakoy which is wonderful with its cafes and restaurants. In summer time, when clubs in Kurucesme open, you are very well positioned if you stay in Ciragan and believe me with Istanbul's hectic traffic this is very important. Ah! It is pricey but you should try the open buffet breakfast. If you can afford it, definately stay at Ciragan.

Gorgeous pool with Bosphorus and Palace view that is unbeatable! Hard to tear ourselves away to go sightseeing. House wine and cocktails at pool bar cost as much as entrees -- 32 Lira for a glass of house wine so visit duty free if this concerns you. Cab from airport is 20 Euros or so -- cab to Sultanahmet (sightseeing) is around 20Lira. Traffic can be horrendous and it took us an hour to get back to the hotel at midnight on Saturday. Yikes! Gazebo -- restaurant overlooking Bosphorus and pool is fabulous and not horrendously expensive for what it is (25-32 Lira for entrees) with excellent service. Its the drinks that get you! (23-35 Lira each). Booked Superior Bosphorus view at Five Star Alliance for 330 Euro several months in advance (did not include breakfast). Room was lovely with pretty view of Bosphorus over the palms and pool. Very quiet, nice bathroom, super comfy bed, nice balcony. Every night they leave little treats and fruit for you. It was my Bday and they sent a large and very delicious choc cream cake with a candle -- gratis. Make sure you walk to Ortakoy (5 mins walk going left as you leave hotel). Sundays there is an open air market (beads and scarves and trinkets) and the square is reminiscent of the South of France but for the small, beautiful Mosque. Conde Naste traveler's recent article on Turkey has a two page photo of Ortakoy on opening page that shows just how delightful the little town is. Tons of little local places to eat at or try and fall in love with the uber trendy and reasonably priced House Cafe and their fabulous passion fruit martinis. Its a bit hard to find, tucked above the ferry terminal on the far side of the square. Great service and fantastic food. Those worried about location might want to spend a day or two at a hotel in Sultanahmet and then a day or two here to relax by gorgeous pool, see Ortakoy and take Bosphurus cruise, etc. Service good, but a bit slow at times as they are very methodical about making a big fuss over everything. If you ask for ice in the room it comes with a flower in a vase. Details take time. Loved it! Will go back. View simply unbeatable.

Already the first impression upon arrival made my day. The guest relations team welcomed us with the name right after the car door was open. Check in on the room which was fabulous. The Ciragan Palace Istanbul is truly a Palace where you can feel like a majesty. Very traditional but in a contemporary style it is the "place to be" in Istanbul directly at the Bosporus. The variety of Restaurants is amazing and every delight gets served. The absolute highlight is the breakfast buffet and the BBQ place on the terrace directly at the water. The quality and the variety of the food is outstanding as well as the service.
Staying there as as business guest I have to admit that i have never been pampered more than in this hotel. Banquet facilities, service are simply outstanding. Highlight here again, the 12 hours ongoing coffee break and private lunch buffet.
I highly recommend this hotel to everyone going to Istanbul and I guarantee you the value for money.

Everything is very well taken care of, at the utmost professionalism. Due to its "stiffness" maybe not the best choice for young couples but definitely a visit worth ! The breakfast buffet is an unforgettable experience !! One of the best Hotels in Europe.

The CIragan Palace is a beautiful hotel, but with definite pros and cons.

- Good location for spending time with friends in Bebek, Besiktas, and Ortakoy, not a great spot for sightseeing as it is not close to Sultanahmet.
- Free wireless internet. However, the internet only worked in my room about 20% of the time.
- The infinity pool is BEAUTIFUL and the best part of the hotel.
- At 50 euro, the breakfast buffet is insanely overpriced.
- I had to switch rooms three times before I found one that didn't reek of smoke...and it still smelled pretty bad!
- The garden view rooms are small and not particularly nice.

Overall, it's a very nice hotel, but very expensive and I expected more for the money.
