“Mindblowing and expensive”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

About 3000 years of history crammed into a small corner of the metropolis... no wonder that prices are high. Service at restaurants is high too, food generally is very good. Visit the restaurants off the beaten track to get a taste of excellent, plain turkish food, yummi. And do go visit the Grand Bazar.

Stroll the area to capture the past and present
Of Istanbul. It encapsulates the city well. An escape to the past.

“space to wander”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Love the cleanliness of the entire area and finished pavements and practically no rubbish. Lots of little streets mean that you can wander and still find your way back as the Minarets of the Blue Mosque guide you back.

“Great place, but prepare for crowds and pressure selling”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Bazaars were great. Area is wonderful. Too hot and humid in August. Beware pickpockets and pressure selling.

“Your connection to the past”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

If you ever dream of bringing back the days of walking on cobblestone streets, this is your area. The clubbers might choose Taksim, but every street of Sultanahmet is history.
