“Great hotel, Great Value and wonderful staff”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

This was my first visit to Istanbul and had no idea what to expect. I was very happy to see the hotel in person because it was in a great location. The hotel is very clean, the staff is incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. The view from the roof is amazing and the breakfast was very good. I was there two nights and next time I go to Istanbul I will definitely stay at Angels Home.

I stayed with friends for 4 nights. We booked this hotel because we wanted an apartment and this offered best value and reviews. What a stroke off luck! It's in the old town, just minutes from restaurants, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. The tram stop is only a ten minute walk.

The staff were so warm and friendly. The roof top restaurant is great and the breakfast had a good selection to choose from.

The apartment (in a separate annexe 150 meters away) was a little tired. Although clean and comfortable enough, it needed some tender loving care, especially the bathroom (i.e. the heated towel rail had peeling paint and the shelf in the shower was a little rusted). I booked through Expedia. It was listed as a three bedroomed apartment, but was in fact a two bedroomed apartment with a double/twin bed/s at one end of the sitting room (offering no privacy).

I think the hotel is doing itself a disservice by selling the annexe apartments (assuming they are the same state as our one) alongside the main hotel. One of the chamber maids kindly let me use the bathroom of one of the rooms in the main building and it was decorated to a much, much higher standard than the apartment (although I am sure it's reflected in the price).

I feel a little guilty in writing about the negatives because the staff were so very nice and on the whole, we all had a smashing break in Istanbul.

Angel's Home was in a great location in Sultanahmet, in an area surrounded by good eateries. Access to many of the major attractions as just a short walking distance. Our room was clean and well appointed, staff were friendly and the included (buffet) breakfast was generous.

Room Tip: Just be aware that there is no lift for four floors.

My husband and I loved Istanbul- we only had 2 nights here and will be coming back. We have been traveling for 3 months around Europe. This is one of our top hotels.

Hotel is clean and very well serviced (compl tea, water, cake, wifi, AC, breakfast incl). The best feature is the staff- all very friendly and helpful and are always wearing a smile- makes all the difference to you stay.

NB. There is no lift (3 floors- breaky is served on the roof terrace).

Walking distance is the blue mosque (of which there is a nice view from the terrace) and all main sights to see. Breakfast was a large range of food from the standard salads, eggs, etc to some Turkish dishes. There are many tripadvisor rated restaurants nearby. We did a tour ('my Istanbul guide'- was rated no 1 when we booked) was great- we will review this too!

Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.. And we will be staying here on our next visit!

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it is very clean, very good breakfast and location is just minutes away from the main attractions of Istanbul. Staff was very friendly, definetly recommend it to anyone going to Istanbul.

Room Tip: Choose rooms at lower floors as there is no lift in the hotel.
