Stayed at the Ritz Istanbul for a week. Loved it.
You can't miss the breakfast buffet or the spa.
Location is on the European side of Istanbul, so there are plenty of things to do. Hotel has high security, so expect to go through something similar to airport security every time you access the premises. The lounge is very comfortable and has an amazing view!

Room Tip: Plan your trip in advance.

The Ritz is located near the soccer stadium - I was unfortunate enough to arrive after 25 hours traveling. The Turks certainly get into soccer because it was like being at the game. I asked to be moved and the staff quickly put me on the other side of the building which was totally quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Make sure you eat breakfast even if only for coffee of tea because the view is worth it. You can see the Asian side laid out across the horizon.

The rooms are as you would expect at the Ritz; a wonderful spot to refresh. The staff provided the sevice one expects at the Ritz.

The only problem is the traffic around Istanbul and the Ritz is in the heart of it so expect travel delays or better yet walk and take the ferry across to visit the bazaar or New Mosque.

Room Tip: If there is an activity at the stadium ask for a room on the opposite side of the building unless yo...

This was our first time in a Ritz-Carlton and we immediately discovered why the Ritz-Carlton holds training courses for other hotel chains. Every member of the staff was courteous and attentive, without being overbearing or snobby, a rare quality in a hotel chain that caters to a specific clientele.

We were told that there are no rooms, other than a presidential suite, that face the old town. We opted for a corner room that faced the Bosphorus (full Bosphorus), which was fine. Our room could have used a refurbishment as some of the furniture and carpet looked past its useful life. That being said, however, the shower was the best one I have encountered bar none. Whatever the opposite of a water-saver shower head is, this hotel has it. Hold on!

The spa was lovely, although being completely underground makes lying on a beach chair around the pool feel a bit strange.

The only meal we ate was the buffet breakfast and what I can say is "bacon!" It was excellent, but after two weeks in Turkey, I essentially ate all of the bacon available at this hotel. I would stay here again.

The walk to Taksim is an uphill affair, past a somewhat dodgy encampment. We never felt unsafe but were taken off guard with people sleeping in a park (behind a fence, so don't fret when you read this). The hotel could have done a better job catering to the tourist who likes to discover things on foot rather than just for those who cab it everywhere. We walked back and forth to Taksim several times, which you will do considering every taxicab will take you for a ride, except those you hail from inside the hotel compound directly.

And, it was the best send-off from any hotel we have encountered. We were shown to a taxi and several members of the staff thanked us for our visit and we felt like they genuinely meant it. Bravo.

This hotel is outstanding! From the moment you walk in the door, you have first class service. The food at this hotel is wonderful and had live music the days that we were there. The location is amazing, a quick walk from taksim square and at the bottem of the hill is the tram, that you can get into the heart of the city. The front desk staff by the end of the week knew all our names, and were so amazing. Our stay was so great because of the people at this hotel. I can not say enough wonderful things about them!!

Room Tip: We had a view that look out onto the bosphorus, beautiful!

We were a group of 6 adults and spent a long weekend at the Ritz Carlton in Istanbul. We stayed on the Club Level and thought that the level of service and the choice of food was excellent. Club level includes all food and drink (alcoholic and soft) available in the club lounge free of charge. For breakfast, lunch and dinner there is a decent buffet of hot and cold food and this is supplemented with various cakes and sandwiches and other snacks available throughout the day.

All of the staff at the hotel were very polite and helpful, something that, to me, is synonymous with the RC brand, but at other hotels of the same price range can sometimes be lacking.

The hotel has two swimming pools. There is a large indoor pool surrounded by loungers and a large hot tub. Inside each of the changing rooms there is a sauna/ steam room, hot tub and showers with massive shower heads. The leisure facilities were included in the price and I definitely recommend you go! There is also a sun deck with a view over the city, this has numerous sun loungers, a bar, a swimming pool and two hot tubs. We loved sitting in the hot tubs in the early evening. I don’t think the outdoor leisure facilities are very clear from the website, but they were a lovely surprise and give you a bit of “beach holiday feel” on a city break.

The hotel is a short walk from Taxim Square and about 10 mins from the tram. The hotel has its own taxi rank if you don’t want to/cant walk to the tram but the roads seemed to be very busy with traffic almost all of the time so we found the tram the quickest way to get around.

I would highly recommend this hotel to visitors to Istanbul.

The wife stayed at this hotel during our Honeymoon. Man, Ive stayed at Ritz-Carltons before but holy cow, this was a heck of a hotel. Everything just look so stunning. As soon as you walk into the hotel, you are greeted by so many friendly faces. The hotel lobby was just beautiful. Even as we were being checked in, we were being offered drinks and snacks. I especially loved the selection of Turkish delights. (Try the pistachio one!). Try to ask for a view facing the sea. We also loved the breakfast that they provided. Also the spa was unbelievable as well. The rooms were decorated so eloquently, we really felt like on the top of the world. There is plenty to do around the hotel, just be prepared to be walking on a lot of hills. We'll definitely try to return one day and completely recommend staying at this hotel for a couple on their honeymoon. The only downside is that the hotel is a little pricey, BUT BUT BUT its the Ritz, what do you expect! :)

Room Tip: Top floor. Ask for list of delivery menus. Also ask for the card at the concierge on how to speak tu...

This hotel is situated on the European side of the Bosporus and in what could be described as the hotel district of Istanbul. As for the quality of the accommodation, good; clean, spacious, etc. Given the politics in the region, security is a high priority at this hotel. For reassurance, vehicle access to the hotel is restricted and luggage is screened as guests arrive in the Lobby.

However, the room wasn’t my main concern when booking. I was slightly apprehensive staying in this area as other contributors to Trip Advisor have commented on dogs in the vicinity barking throughout the night. A poor night’s sleep on the eve of a long business day needed to be avoided but there was no need to worry. The dogs happen to be strays which congregate in the local park adjacent to hotel but the noise was inconsequential.

A few anomalies were encountered. The standard of service from the staff was very good with one notable exception. At breakfast, the Head Waitress was pouring my drink but decided to walk away 'midstream' and serve another guest, presumably because she considered him to be more commercially important! Needless to say, I considered this to be rather rude.

On the second night, my colleague and I asked the door staff for a recommendation for a good restaurant. They kindly despatched us off in a taxi to a rather expensive establishment in downtown Istanbul. Imagine our surprise when we were followed in by other hotel guests whom we had been waiting with in Lobby some five minutes earlier! Mildly amusing but not totally unexpected.

Lastly, my colleague had a coffee machine in his room but I didn’t. I wasn’t particularly bothered but those who need their regular caffeine fix might. Overall a very good hotel.
