Amazing stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Nov 2014
We stayed for 3 nights in Istanbul - the hotel is spectacular. Attention to detail in every area made it a beautiful 5* hotel. There were plenty of areas to enjoy with different bars and the lounge. Our room had a partial bosphorous view which made a huge difference. The room itself was big, luxurious with beautiful detailing in the bathroom.

They would always ensure a taxi arrived within 30 seconds of requesting and made sure he knew exactly where we wanted to go. Our personal favourite was the spa where we could relax after a long day of sight-seeing in the indoor pool and even enjoy the hamman bath. Above all the staff were one of the most welcoming we have ever experienced in a hotel, nothing was a problem for them and they were always on hand to assist. I wish we had made a note of everyones names but all the staff at the entrance, reception, breakfast, the Bleu Bar and the room service ( I think Kamil Topur). Thank you for a wonderful trip and we look forward to visiting again.

What a wonderful place! I have been to Istanbul several times and always enjoy the crowded streets, however, after all day of that, I need a quiet break. Well, this is the place to go for some peace and quiet.

We arrived before our room was ready and the staff offered us some coffee on the outside patio/bar. It was delightful. It was nice sitting there ready the morning paper and relaxing.

Overall, we found the service exceptional and we enjoyed our corner room with a spectacular view of the Bosporus.

If you have an opportunity to use the spa...do so, you will not be disappointed. Also, the breakfast buffet was excellent and offered a wide array of foods to please every palate.

I would highly recommend this hotel for the luxury traveler.

Room tip: If available, choose a corner room.

Highly recommended luxury hotel with quality furnishings, outstanding staff who are very attentive - always with a smile, 10mins walk from an excellent (huge) shopping district and superb views.

If you like to be pampered in luxury surroundings, then suggest that you book here and experience true Turkish hospitality. My 'internal' review of the dining experience rated a rare 10/10 - great result in a city of outstanding dining opportunities.

Room tip: If you can afford a suite with a water view - spoil yourself!

I took the family (2 boys, ages 6 and 11) to Istanbul to experience the rich history and ride on the Bosphorus strait. Using Marriott Reward points, I booked a partial Bosphorus view room with a King bed and a roll away bed for the 11 year old. The view was very 'partial' as we were on the 'back side' of the hotel. The construction of the new football stadium is also kind of an eye-sore in the front of the hotel where the hotel has an excellent view of the Bosphorus. The hotel is also up a steep hill from the water's edge, but it was a good hike (the weather was cool and we are in pretty good shape - I would not recommend the hike in the summer or for the elderly). With all this aside, the hotel service and food were excellent. We ate our dinners in both the Blue Lounge and Atelier and had the beautiful view of the Bosphorus all to ourselves. The food was quite tasty even though there was not a large selection. The best part of the stay, however, was that the hotel provided a guide to take us through the crowds to see all the major sites. Alief was a very nice and educated local guide who spoke good English and knew her way around Istanbul very well. She got us through the long lines at the Haghia-Sophia and the Topkapi Palace, but could not use her charms to get us in the Blue Mosque (the line was over a kilometer long!). The hotel also provided assistance with going to the Asian side and taking the ferry back to the hotel on the European side. We really enjoyed the treatment we were given by the entire staff at the hotel.

Room tip: I'd definitely recommend a room with 'full' Bosphorus view.

Everything is just perfect in this hotel. The way you are experiencing hospitality, friendly staff, great restaurants and awesome view, but the location is a bit so so. difficult to start you walk into Istanbul, as it is a bit isolated on a steep hillside. Don't get me wrong, it's a great hotel to stay and I return here as often as I can, just because everything is just perfect.

Room tip: All rooms are nice except the rooms on the 2nd floor in the corner next the HUGE kitchen or aircontrol exhaust, you either need earplugs or go to reception and ask for another room.

This is great a hotel in Isntabul. Even if the hotel is getting "old" and not fashion/fancy, the reality is that the quality is still there at all levels, welcome, reception, dining, rooms, WiFi, Service, ... and of course location near Taqsim and Bosphore

Room tip: Ask for a Boasphorous view
