A most elegant hotel with exceptional staff.
We were lucky enough to have a room with a view of the Bosphorous! Wonderful.

The overall experience at the Ritz is what you would expect from a five star hotel - outstanding. The service was perfection. Each request was treated as the most important task for them. The room was spacious and luxurious with a wonderful shower and seperate tub. The views of the Bosphorous were gorgeous. The bed was extremely comfortable. The spa was great and the spa services were good overall. The only drawback to the spa area was they allowed small children in the pool. The restaurant was wonderful and when we craved some American comfort food - they were able to provide us with some mozzeralla cheese sticks! Trust me after two weeks eating kababs that was a delight! The concierge was extremely helpful and so were the front desk people. There was a problem with the elevators when we were leaving and the hotel manager personally took our baggage down so that we wouldn't miss our car. My friend dropped her bag and no less than three people rushed to help her. Friendly, courteous and a wonderful experience. The building is a bit of an eyesore on the skyline but the interior is nothng but elegant.

Having stayed at this hotel for almost 3 weeks with my family, this is the best hotel in Istanbul. The lobby is bigger than any in Istanbul with a superb Bospherous view. It has trays of complimentary Turkish delight and welcome drinks to suit the traveller.

The people working there are very friendly and its so easy becoming their friends during the stay.

The rooms are large, althought not huge, but still fairly large. The beds are one of the top three I have slept in, and I have slept in many beds! The matress and bedding are top notch and the Ritz Carlton is famous for the comfy beds.

Breakfast is served downstairs and it was extremely crowded and you have to go early to get a table or else suffer a 15-30 wait for a table.

The only thing was that the hotel lies in the middle of a hill between the Intercontinental and downhill. Walking uphill to Taksim can be tiresom especially considering the road crossings.

If you have a car, or travel anywhere by taxi I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel meets the usual standards for a Ritz Carlton. Emphasis above all else is on personal service.

They were able to arrange for the two of us a personal tour of Istanbul. Very nice, very appreciated, but very expensive.

Be aware that the hotel is situated in the first 6 or 7 floors of the building, the higher floors being residences and office space. You're not going to get the top floor in this very tall building. However, it is situated on a hill, so if you have a view toward the Bosphorus, it will be a good view.

That view overlooks a large soccer stadium practically across the street. However, it was not used during our stay and therefore not a distraction.

Being located this close to the street does mean that you get some street noise. In my case, that meant some funky combination of Turkish and R&B until 1 a.m. or so.

As the hotel is on a steep hill, it's not an easy walk to, well, anywhere. The cabs are plentiful and relatively cheap.

The airport is quite a distance from the hotel. If you're taking a cruise, the port is very close - 5 or 10 minutes.

This hotel is no different from the other luxury chains in charging for internet access by the day. One day, one of them will wake up and figure out that wireless should be offered complementary, like the business discount chains offer.

They do have a metal detector at the entrance and confirm your right to be there with your hotel key card. I didn't find it at all intrusive, but it is different from anything you'd find in the U.S.

Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Personally, I liked this hotel. It was my first trip to Istanbul and the staff, cleanliness and safety of the property impressed me. A good attention to local culture is experienced when you walk through the lobby. The rooms are large and plush. The business areas are ideal and the restaurant looks over the Bosphorus. Very expensive though!

Awful location, entry to the hotel on a main drag highway for which you take your life in your hands to cross, views overlook a stadium with towering night floodlights and afternoon tea was a singularly over rated experience. Pass this one up, below R/C standards.

From the breathtaking views to the wonderful Turkish Delights and juices waiting for you in the lobby, this is a thoughtful glorious place to stay. It's the Ritz and it lives up to it's name. The lobby is beautiful, the restaurant is beautiful, the food, especially mezza plate is wonderful and the staff is probably the best staff I have ever encountered. Friendly and helpful, I don't think "no" or "can't do it" is in their vocabulary.

The hotel is a bit far from the old city or Taksim, but we LOVE to walk and it is a fun walk from the hotel to the various sights, so it was not a problem for us.

Had a Turkish Bath and this was definitely a different experience. The spa was beautiful. Oh, and the Ritz Burger...absolute must at every Ritz...fantastic.

Adored Istanbul and adored this hotel.
