“without any enthusiasm”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

My room had many signs of age and previous passages: scratched furniture, bathroom with several damp patches, mended sheets.
But, what made uncomfortable, more than anything else, my stay in the hotel has been the cold. It has been necessary to use an electric heater to warm somehow my room.
Receptionists also have been particularly confusing to manage my reservation, not only on arrival but also at my departure.

Very good hotel, friendly staff, nice breakfast, good service and I liked the pianist playing in the lobbey. I would recommend this to everybody. Pool area is very nice and big. I would recommend everybody to try a massage.

Very well connected to the downtown and with practical and good facilities. We stayed at the Eresin Topkapi for 5 days and we nailed it.

It was a pity not meeting Alejandro before because he proved to be a helpful and nice member of the staff.

Comfortable rooms, free wifi and good breakfast choice.A very good location, the very efficient tram line into the centre is right outside and takes 15 -20 minutes. The reception staff were very helpful.

Location of the hotel is in front of a tram station toward famous Sultanahmed district. Everything is standard except the 5th floor which was not very warm for cold seasons. You can ask kind hotel staffs (specially a Spanish Gentleman- Thomas) to change your room. Hotel is clean. quality of restaurants are excellent. Do not forget to ask from Ms. Vuslat Aslan about finding places in Istanbul, she is very helpful. Brek, in information desk is a polite and responsible Turkish staff, too.
I think it is a nice hotel.

Room Tip: 5th floor is not suitable for cold season.

We used the restaurant one evening, the menu was reasonable and service fair but not inspiring. The reception staff were very helpful.

We booked this hotel on line substantially below the posted rates but did not include breakfast. The hotel is located in the Topkapi district so it is not near some of the more popular touristy sites, but the trams run very close by right in front of the hotel. The staff try to be helpful but except for reception staff, many of them speak little or no English and things get lost in translation. The rooms are modest, beds reasonably comfortable but we found that in our King bed, when one person moved, the movement transferred throughout the bed. The carpet in our room certainly could have used a cleaning, but the bathrooms appeared clean. Nevertheless we took the usual precautions with alcohol wipes. There is an on- site restaurant but few of the staff speak English well enough to be able to convey any information about the food. Walking a few metres to the left of the hotel are shops typical of Turkish life, and the merchants are not as aggressive as one would find in the Grand Bazaar and we enjoyed wandering and interacting with shopkeepers and tasting the many delicious bakery products. Good value for a budget traveller who is prepared to use the public transit to get around. Taxis are also readily available and hotel staff will provide advice about what should constitute a reasonable fare.

Room Tip: The street in front of the hotel. We booked one on the top floor (5) away from the street and that...
