We were so glad we chose this hotel in Istanbul. Lovely spacious hotel with great spa for relaxing after a long day sightseeing. No need to drive anywhere as the tram stop is a one minute walk away and for 30p takes you right down to the famous Old Town and it's ancient gems. The Grand Bazzar is just five minutes away. Our room was modern, comfortable and spacious and breakast offered a great choice of food including honeycomb. The staff were knowledgeable and could not do enough to ensure we enjoyed our visit to the wonderful Istanbul.

This was our first visit to Turkey I was amazed how helpful staff was specially these two Mr Aziz and Javier Otinano. Mr Aziz who worked at the reception he offered a superb customer service he was great and really helpful he checked on my mum asking her if she was ok which was really nice of him.. Mr Javier was also so helpful my mum couldnot eat certain solid food for breakfast and next day he made sure there was something there for her to eat which was nice of him.
Overall we where happy with the service we where given. I would come back again.

We stayed at the Barcelo Eresin Topkapi for just two nights as part of a long weekend break to Istanbul.

We flew in to Ataturk airport, and decided to use the Metro/tram to get to the hotel. This cost us 6TL per person, very good value. Simply take the red Metro line to Zeytinburnu, then change to the blue tram line to Pazartekke. This tram stop is just a minute walk from the hotel. The total time from airport to hotel was no more than 30 minutes and was very easy to figure out.

The hotel itself, as mentioned in other reviews, isn’t near much, apart from the tram stop. It is situated on a main road, although we weren't affected by any road noise. Within a ten minute walk are a few cafes and bakeries to pick up a few bits and bobs, but generally it’s a case of needing a tram to get to anything of merit. Again, this is nice and simple on the blue tram line, and just 7 stops (about 10-12 minutes) to get to the Grand Bazaar, which is then walking distance to the headline tourist attractions Istanbul can offer.

The facilities within the hotel were great. We were upgraded to a suite for out stay, which was lovely, and the spa and swim areas were of the highest standard. We didn’t eat in the hotel so cannot comment on that.

All in all, don’t be put off by its slightly out of town location, transport is easy, and the standard of customer service and facilities was excellent.

I just visited barcelo for a business congress in Feb 2014!

I am completely satisfied from the services provided. As far as the room is concerned, it is spacey and elegantly designed, providing all 5star accessories such as hair pistol, ear sticks, shoe cleaners, one-use slippers etc.

The staff is friendly and always willing to help (find a taxi, provide information).

Finally, breakfast is superb with a great variety of choices.

I would definitely recommend it.

As a bad comment I would mention the lack of pigal in the toilet!

We originally booked The Barcelo Saray, closer to town and were initially disappointed when we were changed to The Eresin Topkapi, which is a bit further away from the main attractions. However the Eresin Topkapi is a very impressive 5* hotel with excellent facilities and team of people. We were on the 4th floor, Premier Club, which were lovely rooms. The location may put you off, don't let it, the tram service into town and even for going across the Galata bridge is excellent. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes to get to the Grand Bazzar, the Blue Mosque and the other main attractions, and there are trams every 5 minutes. Buy a "Kart" travel card, easy to use and cheaper than buying single tickets. It's 1.95 TL for one journey, any distance, fantastic value! Whilst the hotel has good restaurants, to enjoy the night atmosphere of ISTANBUL, you need to be in town to eat.
The reception staff in the hotel are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble and any issues resolved very quickly. They can also give you some great travelling tips for getting around, which we found very useful when we went to The Galata Tower. A good breakfast buffet, lots of choice, good quality food and pleasant, helpful staff
Our thanks to the whole team at Eresin Topkapi for helping to make our trip to ISTANBUL very enjoyable

Good hotel with large clean room, very friendly service. Situated next to a tram station & Main Road. (Maybe not the best location). All the staff was, helpful, friendly & cooperative. can't fault them one bit, Alex was such help to us sorting our tours & when my wife was not feeling well he took me to pharmacy to get medicine. Thank you Alex.
Best part has to be their swimming pool, gym spa, Sauna & steam room. just amazing.
had the best massage as well.

Maybe not the best choice for people who visit Istanbul for the first time and with little time as this hotel is around 15 mins from the main tourist attractions by tram. Nothing is at walking distance.

I would give them 3 stars, losing two stars to the location, to the moody attitude of the staff, and to the horrible elevators, if it wasn't for a seriously awful experience I had with Barcelo Topkapi. But I am giving them only one star, as this has been the worst hotel experience in my entire life (I am a frequent traveler and I have stayed in at least 250 hotels)

In August of 2013, I with eleven other family and extended family members pick Istanbul as the location for our family reunion. We flew from three different countries to Turkey to have a great time there together. Barcelo Eresin Topkapi managed to almost ruin our entire visit! I will write down my experience in another review. Just be aware Barcelo, the company as a whole, is all about their revenue and monetary profit! They could not care less about their client's satisfaction or the level of customer service they provide.

I will avoid staying at Barcelo hotels at any cost!

Regardless of my awful experience this is my honest opinion about Barcelo Eresin Topkapi:

The good:
- Rooms are of good size and are clean
- Nice swimming pool, steam rooms, sauna and Turkish bath complimentary use for the hotel guests

The bad:
- The manager of the hotel and his condescending attitude
- Elevator: This is a large building with several floors and so many rooms, there are only three very slow elevators. For most of the time at least one of the elevators was out of order. We had to wait a good ten minutes each time we wanted to use the elevators
- Location: If you are not very familiar with Istanbul, beware that to get to the touristy areas and monuments you have 20-40 minutes train ride from the hotel, although the train stop is right in front of the hotel, the trains are ALWAYS jam packed and the ride on those trains are not very pleasant! You may want to try using the trains once just for the experience but you will need to get cabs from the hotel to places you want to visit! This hotel is not in walking distance to anywhere you want to see
- Area: There is no decent restaurants or shops around this hotel. You will need to walk for 25 minutes or so to reach the first restaurant with good food
- Food at the hotel: Extremely expensive! I got two local beer bottles and one water bottle from the hotel bar and ended up paying $25! They charged us $6 for every regular size can of soda that we had from the mini bar. Breakfast also is very expensive something like $35 per person for a not-so-amazing breakfast buffet.
