Not the most luxurious of hotels, but clearly one of the nicest renovated hotels close to the monuments and mosques. It is on the tram line that goes north across the river to the newer parts of Istanbul. Breakfasts are good, could use some variety if the guest was there for more than 2-3 days. Service is excellent. Free internet keeps you connected. Outside bar would be nice when the weather is good, but unusable when it is raining or cold. Value is fair, somewhat expensive, but not bad considering location.

Room Tip: They have one "suite" over the bar area, has it's own outside sitting area. Would be...

Nice new hotel right next to Haya Sofia. Location couldn't be better. You might get a room with more sunlight but facing the tram line or a bit darker one facing the other side. And the air conditioner might be a bit nosy. Still we slept just fine. Breakfasts were absolutely great! Seriously, if read all the other complains that breakfasts in Istanbul are poor, just pick this hotel and enjoy huge tasty breakfasts with fresh squeezed juices and nice service.

Great boutique hotel. Delicious breakfast, personally made and served. Very friendly staff.
Opening the curtains in the morning we could almost touch the Agia Sophia. This hotel is both perfect for me as business travel, as for a holiday stay in Istanbul. This hotel is my first choice hotel in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Choose a corner room, so you have light and view to both sides. Ask for a room at the Agia Sophia si...

In the historical city centre is a modern boutique hotel. I liked the decoration, the service is very kind and helpful. Delicious full breakfast! Very comfortable bed and very good air conditioning system. I recommend it for anyone who prefers to stay in the part of the old city of Istanbul. I will go again definitely

My husband and I stayed at the Boutique St Sophia for two nights in late November 2013 and we were extremely pleased with our stay. So many hotels are marketed as "boutique" nowadays, but few live up to the name; I can say the St Sophia is genuinely a boutique hotel. It's small, chic, luxurious, with excellent service. From the moment we were picked at the airport to check-out, everything went smoothly and comfortably and had a personal touch to it. The lobby itself is a welcoming oasis of classical music and dim lights, and instantly takes you out of the hustle and bustle of Sultanahment square. We were given a corner grand deluxe room on the 3rd floor which was roomy, comfortable, tastefully decorated and had a view of the Agia Sophia courtyard from one window. (We also viewed a superior deluxe room which, although considerably smaller, still seemed very comfortable.) The room was outfitted with all kinds of amenities and mod cons, as well as some clever little extras (the lights in the closet were touch sensitive so that as soon as you put something up on a hanger they would turn on) and so we weren't lacking anything. The bathroom was well-sized, well-lighted and comfortable although could probably use a little more counter space where the sink is, because between the little vanity sets and toiletries the hotel provided there really wasn't much room to put personal items like make-up, glasses, etc. Everything worked flawlessly though, the ambiance was perfect, the windows were truly soundproof, and we enjoyed two good nights sleep. Breakfast was taken in the lobby (it is also served in the courtyard outside which is a super cute area but it was too cold while we were there) and is served, not buffet style. I personally loved the fact that breakfast is served, and they did a great job of it in presentation, variety, and taste - including different cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, a variety of breads, jams, honey, sweets. They also brought fresh juice, and any kind of coffee, eggs, etc. to order. (We tried the traditional Turkish scrambled eggs "menemem" which were great!) The service was impeccable; staff was polite, personable, and willing to help at a moment's notice without being overbearing or annoying. What made an impression on us was that all of the hotel staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful regardless of whether they were reception, housekeeping, busboys, etc. Everyone seemed to take great pride in providing the best possible service they could. And, if one wants to stay in the Old City, the location of the Boutique St Sophia is just perfect, right in the middle all the major sights and transport links, while being worlds away from the tourist overload that is Sultanahment. Overall, we were exceptionally pleased and would stay here again.

I can only concur with the previous reviewers and highly recommend this hotel. I was here on a 14 hour layover, and can highly recommend it as a great base for exploring the old city on foot.

On email request the staff arranged a taxi pickup for me from the airport. I had forgotten to bring some medicine along, and they went out to buy some for me, having it waiting at the desk for me on arrival and insisting was free of charge. The room was very comfortable (but not overly large). The Turkish-style breakfast was excellent, and taken outside in the little courtyard. The staff looked after my bags (and even charged up my laptop) while I took a short walk around some of the sights, and arranged a taxi to take me back to the airport (this I did pay for). In summary, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who can afford it and would like to stay right downtown, very near the Blue Mosque. The best feature was the staff, who were some of the friendliest and most accommodating I've ever experienced in many years of traveling the globe.

This recently opened little hotel is just opposite the beautiful Aya Sophia, a very short walk from Topkapi and Blue Mosque. You can walk easily also to the Grand Bazar and other places in Sultanahmed. So if you come to Istanbul for sightsseing, you can hardly find a better starting point.
Being opened in 2013, the hotel is certainly modern and elegant.
The "grand de luxe room" on 4th floor was large, darkish, with a small terrace with two chairs, facing entrance to Aya Sophia. The bathroom was very nice and big, but without a bathtub.
Breakfast is served in the lobby - a Turkish/continental breakfast with a nice selection of cheese, olives, honey, cake. The deserts were different every day. The service was very friendly - not only at breakfast.
The hotel has free WIFI and it worked perfectly.
If you want to stay close to the main sights in the Old Town and are not worried about the price, go for this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Aya Sophia are quieter
