“Great Hotel in Taksim”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

We were booked here for 2 nights as part of a package tour - we were rather apprehensive initially - but are so glad we stayed in this area as well. We later stayed in Sulthamanet (which was great also) and this gave us a great introduction to sprawling Istanbul. Hotel is located in the "pedestrian friendly " streets just off the square . Easy area to walk around and not as touristy as the old town. Hotel rooms were clean - Wifi could be iffy. Breakfast buffet was very good with a great view of the sprawl.

Wonderful team, excellent service! Well done! I have really enjoyed my stay at this hotel.
Strongly recommend for both business and leisure travellers.
I am a frequent traveller all over the world and I must say that the service provided here is not worse that in any 5 star and luxury hotel.

Had a three night stay recently here, booked by our tour agency, for a large (party of 12) family vacation. Quality of hotel overall is 4 stars, with 5 stars for customer service. OUTSTANDING LOCATION!!! Had no clue about local geography, but we were very fortunate, as this is located in an ideal location adjacent to Taxim Square and pedestrian mall/shopping area. Lots of dining options in the area, but the in-house restaurant gave us delicious food for both breakfast & dinner, and again--outstanding customer service. Don't be put-off by the "Best Western" chain designation--it is much better than my previous experiences in Best Western properties. You will enjoy your stay here!

We stayed there a total of 3 nights, 2 at the beginning of our tour and one at the end. Hotel itself is located 2 blocks from famous Taxim Square. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. We were given a complimentary bottle of water, about 1 liter, to make tea or coffee with. Very clean, nice bedding, etc.

Front desk staff is very helpful. When we did not know what time we will be picked up they called the agency and found all the information for us. Our return flight was at 6 am, so we left hotel at about 3:30. They packed a breakfast for us to go. This was very nice.

Speaking of breakfast - full breakfast is included. Very nice elabrate Turkish breakfast in spacious dining room on the last floor of the building. Good food , great view.

The area around the hotel is OK, very touristy, though one can see some people trying to take advantage of the tourist walking around. For example, on our second night we were walking around the block and a shoeshine guy just passed us by with his equipment tucked under his arm. All of a sudden, one of his brushes falls. Seeing this was an older gentleman, my husband picked his brush and gave it back. The shoeshine immediately lowered his stand and offered to shine my husbands shoes as a sign of gratitude. While doing so he complained about hard life and how he has so many mouths to feed. My husband thinks to himself, I should give him a tip though the service must be complimentary, a Thank You for being nice. After the job was done, my husband asks the guy, How much do I owe you? The guy says, 19 Turkish liras (equivalent of 9 dollars). This was way more than it would normally cost, as I understand, and definitely not a Thank You. We did not have much cash on us and gave him 5 liras, he took it with a great disappointment on his face. On the last night of our stay in Istambul, we were doing shopping in the area around our hotel and saw a couple of shoeshines walking. After our earlier encounter, still smarting, I remarked to my husband, Just don't pick up any brushes. To my astonishment, one of the guys "accidentally" drops a brush. This must be a trick they all play. So great hotel to stay, just don't pick up any shoe brushes!

I loved staying at this hotel. The area is very nice and the hotel is small but very convenient. Also very nice view from breakfast roof and nice arjileh +turkish coffee right next door.

I really recomend this.

Beginning of stay was strange and tiring as Taxi dropped us at the Taxim square due local disturbance stating that hotel is located next door which turned out to be atleast 400 meter and with baggage in hand even more.Yet when we entered the hotel,it evoked a different feeling.Good ambience, courteous and helpful staff, good room service, reasonable package rate and close proximity to our conference venue,Istanbul conference center all added to comfort and economics.Morning buffet break-fast was large but absolutely no trace of any indian dish and what added to our woes was almost all the serving staff had very less or no knowledge of English.Rates offered for exchange at Hotel were reasonably good yet you could get more at next door conversion point. Beware of touts promising to arrange/bring anything for you in the street outside as they will take you to off street isolated corners restaurants and there all of a sudden you will find yourself surrounded by girls who will order lousy drinks costing a fortune at your expense. If you don't pay(bill could be upto thousand Leera in minutes for all) you may end up loosing your passport and creditcards.Overall we loved staying at this hotel and while departing also ,staff was helpful in arranging Taxi from hotel .A good experience of stay.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms will give you a great look of Istanbul city. Also preferably arrive with a pre-boo...

Recently stayed here for 4 nights. Was a very nice and clean hotel. Good location. Friendly staff, nice restaurant. Good breakfast with nice city views. Rooms are nice and very clean, everything you need is here. Only problem was the street sweepers come early in morning and wake you up. But Really enjoyed staying here and loved my first time travelling in Turkey.
