“cute cozy and central”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2013

I love this little hotel. This is my second stay (the first time was June 2004) and it never disappoints. Comfortable rooms with all the necessities. You can also get a room with a view of the blue mosque. Breakfast is served on the rooftop in an enclosed area with seating available outside with fantastic views of the Bosporus and has a nice variety of continental breakfast. Its in walking distance to Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, Grand Bazar cafes, restaurants etc.. You can book tours from the hotel to venture out and see the other sites that istanbul has to offer. We were also going to Dalyan for a couple of days and then coming back to Istanbul and they stored our extra luggage. The staff are courteous if a little stiff in nature but i think that can also be due to the fact that speaking English is not their strong suit.

Room Tip: The hotel website and pictures are true. so ask for a room with a view.

Great location and really helpful reception staff. Breakfast was thrown in for free on our deal which did not include breakfast so we tipped the staff. Hotel was clean and

Location is within easy reach of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia although expect the local Mullah to wake you up with his singing at sunrise.

This was a delightful surprise for our 5 day stay. A stone's throw (almost) from Blue Mosque & Aya Sofia, short walk to Topkapi, Grand Bazaar & Cisterns. Breakfast excellent on terrace with great views. Many restaurants within 5 minute walk. Happy to recommend this hotel.

We stayed 4 nights here in September and found this hotel to be really well situated for walking and sight-seeing. Whilst our room was clean but cosy, the terrace offered fantastic views towards the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Sea of Mamara. The staff were friendly and helpful overall. The breakfast selection was nice, but the hot food selection wasn't ready when dining earlier in the morning.
This is around 2-5 mins walk to Hippodrome, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The Grand Bazaar is 10 mins walk in the opposite direction and the Arasta Market is directly behind the Blue Mosque. You can catch the tram to the Spice Market and Galata Bridge near Hagia Sophia.
I would be happy to stay here again, but would probably request a larger room as it was a bit tight with two full sized suitcases.

This was a solid reliable if old looking hotel with an ideal location just off one end of the hippodrome. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was good and served on the roof garden that had stunning views of the Blue mosque on one side and the Bosphorus on the other. Room 401 has a side balcony with a great view of the Blue mosque that is worth a bit extra. Reasonably priced with laundry charged by weight. It's location is its biggest asset but at the price it also seemed good value.

Room Tip: 401 has a balcony with stunning view of Blue mosque

Great location. Clean but old. Slow wifi. Single room is tiny. Double room is okay size. Average service.

We stayed a total of 4 nights in Istanbul - 2 nights at Hotel Fehmi Bey and 2 nights at White House Hotel Istanbul, so we have a good basis for comparison. For pretty much the same price, definitely go with the White House if they have availability (it really is no comparison and White House is 5 star all the way).

Fehmi Bey is very centrally located and short walking distance to all the major sights. The wifi is extremely slow, often taking over a minute to load the google homepage and sometimes not working at all. Most of the staff did not seem very enthusiastic about helping and, in my opinion, does the minimal to get by. The breakfast was not impressive, although the view from the roof terrace is quite nice. Our friend stayed in a single room, which was tiny and barely had enough space to open a large luggage case. We stayed in a double/triple room, which had a queen bed and a single bed, and it was much bigger. Overall, it was a very average experience and we will probably not return.

Room Tip: Single rooms are tiny.

This lovely small hotel was a wonderful base for six nights in Istanbul. A great atmosphere with beautiful carpets and decor. The staff were so helpful, courteous and friendly, and always someone available 24/7. It was such easy walking distance to major sites of interest, the Grand Bazaar as well as plenty of cafes and restaurants. We loved an excellent leisurely breakfast on the roof-top terrace with great views. Our room was very comfortable and clean, serviced daily. Easy internet access. We could not have wished for better for our needs.
