The Dersaadet Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey was wonderful on many levels. The location was superb as we wanted to walk to many locations in the district and were easily able to do this.
The Dersaadet Hotel Staff we're all incredibly warm and friendly and very helpful to us. They helped us arrange a trip on the Bosphorous. They have staff available 24- 7.
If possible stay in the top floor penthouse the views are superb as was our view in the beginning of our stay when we were in another room facing the water.
The top floor where breakfast is available has a breathtaking view!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the water

My wife and I and her sister and cousin had 2 days to spend in Istanbul after touring their wonderful country for 2 weeks in May and June 2011. We could not have picked a better place to stay than the Hotel Dersaadet. The owner Deniz greeted us on our first day and helped us arrange a boat trip up to the Black Sea for the following day. The staff were always charming and pleasant and extremely helpful. Getting up in the morning and having breakfast on the roof terrace set such a great tone for the day. A lovely breakfast and a magnificent view made you fall in love with Istanbul. Walking distance from all the main attractions made this an ideal location. Off on a not so busy street was awfully nice as you could find some quiet time from a bustling city of 15 million people. The rooms are very comfortable and Deniz has put a lot of thought into detail. It is wonderful just to spend some time looking around the lobby at the special little things he has done. There is also a laptop with internet access in the lobby which is very convenient . The day we left Deniz came to say "Goodbye" and thanked us for our patronage. My wife and I look forward to returning to Istanbul some day and will definitely make the Hotel Dersaadet our place to stay. Thank you again to Deniz and the staff. Well done.

Room Tip: The rooms we had were lovely.

This hotel has all of the charm and quirks of a bed and breakfast. If you are looking for something of the Four Seasons experience, then please look elsewhere. If you would like to feel welcome, appreciated and addressed by name as well as have a glorious breakfast listening to the seagulls while trying to decide where to focus your attention... The Blue Mosque or the the Bosphorous, then this may be the exact place you've been looking for. The service is impeccable and the owner, Deniz, is will go the extra mile to make sure to give you off the beaten path restaurants, shops, etc... The location is ridiculous, in that you can walk to the Grand Bazaar, The Blue Mosque, The Hagia Sofia... watch a whirling dervish at nearby cafe... Overall, it was a wonderful experience and one that I highly recommend.

Dersaadet is in the old city where most of the sites are and a quick walk to all of them. The hotel is decorated in an antique style that is very quaint and charming. The bathroom is modern with excellent pressure showers. Friendly staff and breakfast on the roof is spectacular. Remember, you get 10% off if you pay for your room in cash!

We have just returned from a trip to Istanbul and had a great stay in the Dersaadet hotel. The staff made us feel extremly welcome from the moment we arrived, giving us maps and a useful orientation to the city and continued to be very helpful throughout the stay. The rooftop terrace with a view of the sea and the Blue Mosque was a great place for an evening drink and for breakfast.

We spent 2 nights in the old town, then took a cab to the new town for 2 nights. My dopey sister left her blackberry in the cab and we called the Dersaadet (as originally thought she had left it in the room) and they were super helpful, checking the hotel and then getting in touch with the taxi. They located it there and organised the taxi to return the blackberry to our New Town hotel. We were really grateful for all the effort they went to both during our stay and once we had left!

I appreciated the friendly staff and the numerous small details that give this place a soul as compared to standardized hotels. In addition, the location is convenient, right to the sultanahmet district.

Clean rooms and friendly service. The hotel is a short walk from the "Blue" mosque and Topkapi. Airport pickup was convenient and competitively-priced. Free if you stay a certain number of nights (3 or 4, I think). Bathroom was in marble and nice. This was the basement room with a Turkish bath. The disadvantage is that the windows are at street level although I suspect rooms on higher floors aren't significant in terms of views. Large bed but top sheet was a little small for it. Room decor is a bit dated.
Rooftop breakfast offers some tables in the open with views over the Sea of Marmora. Buffet was ok but nothing particularly noteworthy. The disappointment was that the juice was not fresh but instead more of a flavoured fruit drink.
Pay in cash and get 10% off.
