We have been to Istanbul countless times, but the location and splendid roof garden of the Dersaadet Hotel made this visit unforgettable. Most of all, the owner and staff were spectacularly helpful, kindly, professional and personable. Deniz Duyar, the manager, went out of his way to make sure our visit was what we hoped it might be. We will always remember looking at the Blue Mosque on one side and the sea on the other. With heartfelt thanks.

The Dersaadet Hotel were very quick to reply to my emails about airport transfers. We arrived late but the check-in was quick and our rooms were ready, spotlessly clean and welcoming. The internet was free and very good. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast on the roof terrace was lovely,
We walked everywhere, the surroundings were wonderful, delightful streets, some great restaurants and close to all sights.
Thank you Dersaadet Hotel

Room Tip: Some rooms have views over the Marmara sea.

We stayed in this hotel for five nights in August and loved it. It is a small family run hotel within walking distance of all the major sights and the walk was past and through interesting places. It is also a short distance from the tram and walkable to the port. Lots of good restaurants, good shops and bazaars within easy walking distance. The street immediately outside the hotel is a little untidy, but you hardly notice that. The hotel itself is great: Ottoman style and nicely furnished, in good condition and very well kept. The staff were very friendly, any request for information or requirement was dealt with straight away, nothing was too much trouble and they were all well informed, very courteous and good fun. The breakfast was very good - a wide choice of good food and served on the roof, inside or on the terrace, which had amazing views of the sea and the Blue Mosque. It was never crowded and the staff in charge were most pleasant. it was extremely good value for the money and I would not hesitate to go back again, it felt like home after a few days.

Room Tip: We had a standard double room on the first floor (303) for most of our stay and it was perfectly nic...

Absolutely loved istanbul but most importantly the staff and hotel were superb, infact the photos doesn't do enough justice, you actually have to see the rooms and hotel for yourself to realise how wonderful it truly is! We were on the ground floor room and it was extremely quite and I think it's the only room that's available there, rest of the rooms were just for staff use, so no noise of people walking or opening doors!!! The room was amazing and the Turkish bath and bathroom were extremely spacious I couldn't get enough of it!!! On our last night the electrics seemed to have stopped working in our room, nevertheless we were given a larger room in a matter of minutes and again we were not disappointed, they apologised countless times and made sure we were comfortable in our new room. The locality was perfect not far from anything and yet hidden away on a quiet road with local mini markets right opposite and good restaurants nearby. We would definitely recommend to others and one day hopefully return to this hotel ourselves. The view from the terrace was beautiful and having breakfast there every morning was surely a blessing, as for the breakfast, there was plenty of choice.

Most impressive was the staff and their attentiveness. Our TV was fixed promptly in a day and as a way to say sorry, they sent us a pack of "Turkish delight". It wasn't the sweets that impressed us, it was the care.

We practically like everything about the hotel: big room, nicely decorated, well-equipped, reasonable breakfast and very helpful / friendly staff. We even love the location: a nice 5-10 minute walk from Blue Mosque. .

I would definitely return to this hotel next time I'm in Sultanahmet, Istanbul. The hotel and the staff both deserve a lot of praise:

The hotel is a charming little gem, comfortably decorated, in easy walking distance to everything in Sultanahmet. There is a rooftop terrace where a wonderful breakfast is served each day, overlooking the Sea of Marmara. You can also go up there for afternoon drinks before dinner, which we did each day. The staff can also go up there to get you drinks or tea or snacks to enjoy in the old-world lobby. There is always an attentive and friendly attendant on the terrace to help you. The lobby has water and Turkish snacks to take.

We had the ground-floor hamam room, which was nice. It was very small and decorated very old world. But it was so great to enjoy the Turkish bath each day.

The hotel is minutes from everything in Sultanahmet. Perfect location.

The staff bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable and to help us navigate the city. Examples:
- When we dropped off our luggage in the morning before we could check in, they cordially invited us to stay for free breakfast.
- Each evening, they offered tea and snacks to enjoy before bed.
- One of the front-desk guys, Yilmaz, was off of his shift already, and saw my friend and I getting lost on the way to a restaurant. He flagged us down, and then proceeded to walk us several blocks to the restaurant so we would get there. Wow!
- Another front-desk guy (cannot remember the name!) insisted we take umbrellas with us. Several times. Kindly. We ignored him and we returned soaked, and he enjoyed a good laugh with us.
- He also spent a long time working to find a way to get to a restaurant on the Asian side of Istanbul.
-Ozan often patiently listened to all my adventures when the front desk was slow. It was so nice to have someone to gush about Istanbul with!

I could go on and on. The staff was as much a part of our trip as the sites. They really made the stay the best.

Room Tip: The Turkish bath rooms are great but you have to be OK with being at floor level.
