The location of the hotel is excellent, very, very close to the Blue Mosque and loads of other attractions. There is tram system very close also which let's you buzz accross town very rapidly. Don't forget to purchase your token close to the tram stop, 3TL about €1.3. The machine takes notes also.

Kind of shabby, and not as friendly as other reviewers have said. Yes, the location is right across from the Blue Mosque, and yes, the breakfast buffet (and the view) is delightful and delicious. However, everything in Sultanahmet seems focused on the tourist trade, so once you see the "big sights", and you're ready to see the part of Istanbul that's a real cosmopolitan city, you need to leave that neighborhood. Unless you can take the tram, that's easier said than done. Cabs in Sultanahmet regularly overcharge by $10-15 ("meter is stuck"), and cabs going back were honest, but would not get closer to the Alzer than 4 or 5 blocks. All in all, in Istanbul, I think it pays to spend more on a better hotel, with full services, to help you navigate the city.

Hard to find a better location to visit the key sites. Walking distance to all major sites in the old city. The staff and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble and the rooms are clean and adequate. If you don't want to pay top price this is a great hotel

This was a great hotel for our family stay. It is just behind the Blue Mosque and convenient to the Sultanahmet district in Istanbul. We stayed for only one night but the room was really nice, breakfast was fantastic and dinner that night was delicious. The staff was very attentive and the free WiFi was definitely a plus.

Stayed in an economy room (4th floor) for 4 nights in March. Ideal location for Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Spice & Grand Bazaar - all walkable maximum 20 minutes, or access to efficient tram system. Very friendly staff and clean + comfortable hotel & rooms. Economy rooms overlook rear street but this does not protect you from the morning call to prayer at 5:15am! Rooms a little too warm if anything but nothing detrimental in economy room. Room safe and Sat TV with BBC if you need a news fix. Free Wifi throughout works everywhere. Did not eat in hotel other than breakfast (served til 10am) which was sustaining and satisfactory (cereals, fruit, yoghurt, bread, cheese, col meats, eggs, coffee, juice, tea, etc.). Loved the bread rolls. particularly. Excellent 270 degree viewpoint from breakfast room.

Room Tip: Room 45 economy was fine

I stayed here for a weekend break and found the rooms very comfortable and the inclusive breakfast very extensive. Breakfast is overshadowed somewhat by the spectacular views from the room in which it is served, I could have eaten breakfast all day long just to enjoy that view! Hotel is in a great central location, very easy to walk to all major sites.
