“Location, location, location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014 via mobile

This hotel is perfect for its location. You can't get a better location. It's right in the middle of everything - short walk from all the main tourist attractions, restaurant quarters and perfect to go out and come back late at night. If location is key, then this is the hotel for you.
The rooms are very small, barely any space to move around! But they do have a lovely terrace bar where u can sit and have a drink and enjoy the most fabulous views of blue mosque and the area!
I have to say, I was appalled by the breakfast - it was lacking in quantity and quality. Hardly much bread there, only cold boiled eggs, 2 types of cereal and that's it. If you have an option of not having breakfast there, then don't! Lots of lovely cafés close by.
The staff in reception were always very helpful and guided us etc.
I would probably stay here again, but spend more money for a bigger room and have breakfast elsewhere:)

Another lovely stay at the Ibrahim Pasha Hotel. First one was 3 years ago and it is still an excellent, comfortable and charming hotel. We stayed for 5 nights in one of the delux rooms so enjoyed a little more space. Everything spotlessly clean and all rooms and common areas stylish and authentic. Excellent help given by the friendly reception staff: booking restaurants, advising on places to go to etc. Hotel is usefully tucked away from the Blue Mosque and the main tourist area; you would never know that the crowds of tourists are just around the corner. Unfortunately there was a fair bit of construction work going on up the street which meant it could be a bit noisy but that won't last. Can highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the main street if you are in term time as the playground noise from the nearby sc...

We stayed here for 5 nights and we really enjoyed it. In fact, going back to our comfy room and the welcoming hotel was one of the things we actually looked forward to at the end of a long day exploring. The rooms are decorated in a tasteful yet cosy style, and every room has a selection of excellent CDs provided-so you can immerse yourself in the diverse music of Turkey, while reading some of the great books they have also provided, including books of the photography of Ara Guler, who was a Magnum photojournalist-his black and white photographs of Istanbul in the 50s and 60s might just make you a bit nostalgic for an Istanbul that is only still there in traces now...
Other high points of this amazing hotel are the roof terrace (lost count of the number of times we went up there to just gaze in wonder at the Blue Mosque), the excellent central location (you couldn't get much closer to the main attractions of Istanbul), and the little touches, like complimentary bottled mineral water in the room every day with nice solid glasses to drink it from, and free tea and coffee (GOOD tea and coffee, more importantly) brought to you whenever and wherever you liked in the hotel! Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful, with charm and a good sense of humour.
If you enjoy cosy, charming boutique hotels with lots of thoughtful extras (I have never seen so many books in a hotel, and ones you can get lost in, at that), then this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Room 401 was lovely and cosy, but had a low roof and just one tiny window, which didn't really b...

We found our room at Ibrahim Pasha to be stylish, well appointed, spotlessly clean and very conveniently located. The roof terrace is a sublime place to spend the early evening and the breakfasts were also good. For me what made the difference was the advice and assistance provided by the hotel. The map they provided had everything we needed for our five day stay. The restaurant recommendations were spot on. The staff made all our bookings, and provided great advice on things as what ferries to catch to where you can purchase travel cards and shampoo.
This is a small boutique hotel, and was not cheap but their pragmatic, insightful advice for getting the most out of Istanbul was priceless. We will be back.

Hands down, this is the place to stay in Sulthanamet for us Westerners. Most of the hotels we looked had super small rooms, VERY ethnic decor, small windows ... basically a traditional "old" Turkish vibe.

Ibrahim Pasha is not at all like that. The vibe in this soulful boutique hotel is wonderful, comfortable, mature, soothing - and the breakfasts, which are included, are AMAZING!

LOCATION
The BEST location in the Old Town. Within, literally, a stones throw from the Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern and the Blue Mosque, a great coffee shop (yelp.com/biz/denizen-cof…), and wonderful eateries. The Hippodrome is right outside the front door and down the street a half a block (so, it's quiet).

THE GOODS
OHHHHH the breakfast!!! WOW. Everything you could imagine and it was all first class. Every morning, there is a communal breakfast of coffee, teas, fresh fruit, fresh breads, fresh produce, and the best yogurt I had in the two weeks we were there (of course, being the southern gal that I am, the only thing I missed was a thick sausage patty or a nice slice of bacon or two - but you won't find that anywhere in Istanbul!). The only odd thing was the charge for orange juice. We just did without.

THE DIGS
Our room was not large, but it was ample. The bed was very comfortable, with nice linens and pillows - lighting above each side of the bed made it great for reading at night. There was a small sitting area of two comfy chairs and a small table. The bathroom was European in design and well updated (in an older building, which was a surprise), with plush bath linens, robes and slippers.

There is a nice library downstairs that was always quiet and perfect for afternoon reading. Lots of books and periodicals about the surrounding areas (which gave us ideas of things to take in).

The BEST part about the place is the terrace upstairs with the little bar. It's so charming. We sat upstairs for tea in the afternoon - great views of the Sea of Marmara, and the Blue Mosque, as well as the asian side of Istanbul and up the golden horn.

THE DIRTY
Which is not so "dirty"! Ibrahim Pasha is not inexpensive, by any means. However, I wouldn't recommend staying anywhere else for the price. The standard rooms are small, so splurge for the upgrade. You won't regret it.

THE STAFF
Everyone in Istanbul is warm and inviting, and especially at the Ibrahim Pasha. The staff at IP went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable. We were greeted by one of their staff when we arrived at baggage claim, to take us to the hotel, which was very nice ... We were certainly tired and had no idea how to get around in this new place! They also made great restaurant recommendations and even made our reservations.

Ibrahim Pasha is a small boutique hotel - so if you are planning your trip, connect with them early.

We were delighted to stay the three nights in this great hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of everything that we wanted to see and experience in Istanbul. All the staff were terrifically helpful with the front of desk being thorough in making us confident that we knew the best way to get to all the places on our 'Must Go' list. We are returning there in 3 days to continue our stay in Turkey.

Room Tip: We had a quite room on the 4th floor which was just right to easily get to the dramatic views of the...

This boutique hotel's location is perfect for easy walk to Haghia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar etc., and transport. Also well situated for some excellent restaurants. The staff are enthusiastic and really helpful. The hotel has created its own app so guests get the best out of their visit to the city. The staff have regular maps to hand out, too, and lots of helpful advice. Roof terrace and a comfy lounge are very welcoming. We had a deluxe room with a sofa and a balcony with table and two chairs, very well equipped bathroom, luggage storage area and comfortable bed. At the time of our visit there was building work going on next door but as the work didn't start early it didn't cause us any problem because we were out enjoying Istanbul during the day. It didn't in any way make us regret choosing this hotel and in any event the demolition stage was finishing on the last day of our visit. We would be happy to recommend this well-run hotel and would choose it again if we were returning to Istanbul.

Room Tip: Worth paying a bit extra for a deluxe room.
