“Excellent situation in atmospheric location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

A group of 28 of us stayed here in early October. The rooms are spotless and if anything the sheets and towels are changed too often! The beds are very comfortable. The windows do certainly keep out much of the entertainment noise from the roof terrace but not all. However, by midnight all is quiet. We walked so much we slept through even the early call to prayer from the almost adjacent Blue Mosque! I had asked for a quietly-located room, which didn't quite materialise and the view from the back of the hotel is anything but salubrious. But - the hotel is well-run, the buffet breakfast was always most enjoyable. The squeezing of your own orange juice is the first major bit of exercise of the day, but well worth it! The bar was a peaceful haven at the end of a tiring day and the beer lovely and cold. The roof terrace covered restaurant was atmospheric. The waiting staff were friendly, especially if you could manage a fractured 'thank you' in Turkish. The hotel is well-placed for walking up to the street of restaurants behind where there is a huge choice. I would stay here again - hoping for a better view and quieter location, but it is the hotel of choice for weddings - understandably so.

Room Tip: I think rooms facing the water but at the far end from the terrace would probably be best, on the 2n...

Perfect location near attractions and tram stops. Also very close to a lot of restaurants that we could walk to at night. clean, nicely appointed, quiet room. Great, huge breakfast. Would absolutely recommend this without hesitation and would stay here again! I hope I get a chance to do so!

Lovely hotel. Great service. Excellent accessible but serene location in the Old City. Beautiful views from the rooftop terrace restaurant. Highly recommended for a stay in Istanbul. This is a special hotel from which to explore the sights of the Old City. The rooftop restaurant food is also recommended.

This hotel is in the old city and just a short walk to the main tourist attractions of Istanbul, alk to Blue Mosque, Haj Sophia, Palace, rail tram, great eating spots.
Hotel picked us up at the airport-great feature. The breakfast buffet is included and it's a great one with lots of local fruit, honey, cheese, olives, eggs, sausage etc etc

Room Tip: If you want to see the ocean go to the upper floor (it's a low rise building)

I recently stayed at this hotel for a week. It is located in the old part of town on the Bosphorus but also in walking distance of a lot that Istanbul has to offer including the Blue Mosque and Haigia Sophia. The rooms are small but they are beautifully appointed with one of the best showers I have ever used. The beds are delightful with fabulous white cotton bed linen that even after a night's sleep looked pristine and inviting. The food was good but the views from the roof-top restaurant were amazing - when was the last time you looked out at the Blue Mosque during breakfast or dinner? Even the lobby is interesting - with a turtle pool and lots of interesting artefacts to photograph. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes. Would I stay again? Yes

Room Tip: Pay extra for a view of the Bosphorus, the room is the same but the views are wonderful.

We stayed at this hotel for a few days in September 2013.

The rooms are smallish but comfortably furnished. Bath robes are provided together with slippers. The rooms have individual air conditioning (which admittedly works over a limited temperature range) and a mini-bar is provided (chargeable, although drinking water was provided free).

The top floor restaurant provided excellent food for dinner. It also provided an exceptional spread for breakfast. There is an excellent view towards the Blue Mosque etc.

Pound for pound (or lire for lire) one of the best city hotels I have stayed in.

The location is fantastic and is walking distance to the Topaki Palace, Blue Mosque, a good selection of restaurants, and the seafront.

The breakfast is simply awesome with an excellent range of local Turkish cheeses, pastries, olives, salad, fruit and yoghurt. Also look out for tea in the samovar...and make sure you dilute it with plenty of water!

Breakfast is taken on the roof terrace which has superb views of the Blue Mosque and sea. We also had an evening meal one night on the terrace. It is quite pricey by local standards but the quality superb and well worth if you want to spoil yourself one night. Alternatively the terrace is a great location for a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap.

The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the beds very comfortable. The view was not the best then why not just go to the roof terrace and have an Efes,

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Istanbul
