“Charming Small Hotel Conveniently Located”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

This hotel has the intimate feel of a bed and breakfast with Victorian décor and helpful staff. The included breakfast buffet is in a lovely light-filled room. The bedrooms are basic. We were in a deluxe double room, but fellow travelers were in only a double room. We highly recommend the deluxe over the double due to the small room size of the double. The best part is the convenient location for site seeing: it is tucked right between the Blue Mosque and the Haglia Sophia. Many restaurants are within walking distance. WiFi is also included. We recommend asking the desk staff to arrange a taxi for you, if needed. They know the dependable companies. One down side was poor lighting in our room for reading. Beware, in this neighborhood, there is some street noise and of course you will be very aware of the early-morning Call to Prayer -- but that is part of the Istanbul ambiance.

Room Tip: Splurge for the Deluxe Double room instead of the Double.

We had friends recommending us Yesil ev for a 1 night stop over and it could not have been better for a first trip to Istanbul. The garden is lovely but unfortunately it rained all day. The room was magical in all respects and the service spot on. Not cheap but if you want to be in old style boutique like hosted that's the place to go.

We didn't stay at this hotel but did enjoy drinks in the garden which was very tranquil and romantic, lovely respite from the bustling city. The garden centres on a lovely fountain and is wheelchair accessible.
Service was also attentive and the location is very good.

Perfect location, very helpful staff. Gorgeous breakfast in cosy dining room. Courtyard gives extra beauty and space and the fountain was magical in the snow. Great to be within walking distance of the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque which you can lose yourself in for hours and then be back home in minutes.

Room Tip: View to the Blue Mosque

This is a wonderful small hotel in Sultanhamet. It has a wonderful old world charm. We found our room well furnished, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious with hot and cold options, the figs and apricots are yummy. We found the staff to be excellent, friendly and helpful. We felt very at home here. Lunch and evening meals are available but with so many choices of eating places around the area, we tended to go out and eat. It would be nice to be able to make a hot drink in the room and I hope the management consider this. We would love to come back again.

Room Tip: All rooms seem fine. There is no elevator.

This is a wonderful small hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet, located directly between the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. Staff is unfailingly helpful and courteous, rooms are spotless (many are a little small, though some are large), and the outdoor space in the back garden is an oasis in the city. A great base for exploring Istanbul for the independent traveler or for frequent visits.

This hotel brings one back to more genteel times in Istanbul, though the property is quite up to date. It is housed in Victorian era building with a beautiful garden out back where one can eat the included breakfast buffet or pop in for lunch or afternoon tea--or dinner for that matter. It is in the heart of the old European part of the city.
