“Lovely”

I have travelled with my 70 year old father and were worried about him as the steps can be steep and not very safe.Loved the view, history behind it and the fact not many tourists were there!

“What a Fortress”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

wow this is an amazingly huge place, but be careful as the stairs are narrow and no barriers. We got on a tram then the number 25A bus getting off near the 3rd bridge, entry is 10 lira or can use museum card for free entry. the view from the walls, if game enough to climb stairs, are breath taking. Make sure you take a couple of bottles of water each, you will need them. The Fortress looks stunning at night especially from the water. The fortress was built in 4 months in 1452 and I have no idea how this was achieved and is situated at the narrowest point of the Bosphorus. Directly opposite in the Fortress of Antatolia controlling this area well

“Fantastic view! but somewhat dangerous stairs..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

The view from the top is uncomparable!..but if you have acrophobia you should be careful. Staircases to the top are quite narrow and the wind is strong. Still, defenitly worth a visit!

“Nice place to admire Bosphorus”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

This is one of the two twin fortresses that were user to protect Istanbul from the Asian and European parts of the Bosphorus. Rumeli Hisari is the one on the European side. You can see a beautiful and historical construction and you can also admire amazing views of the Bosphorus.
