well i have to say that the place was really good if you are looking for a quite place near taksim without all the noise and crowded streets, minor thing though the AC was not cold enough but for some reason tis was a problem in Istanbul in all hotels, staff were helpful, food was ok.
if you are just looking for a clean place to sleep and shower after a long day of sightseeing and near to transportation to all istanbul this is it

Room Tip: try to ask about AC first if you are traveling in the summer

Stayed for 5 nights. Location is excellent, near taksim square. Room size was small.
Locker accepted only 2 codes so did not use. A/C compressor did not work. Breakfast was good but same items everyday. Staff understood little english.
Room and bathroom was clean.

I got a room for smokers, which was awful. The reception staff was helpful and I got the following day a non-smokingroom but unfortunately equally filthy. Especially the carpet was very dirty. The bathroom with shower was ok but lacked sufficient soap, shampoo and paper. I asked for more but without success. A/C was noisy which was especially annoying when looking at the TV. The breakfast was mean but had the usual stuff. A lot of seagulls outside the windows of the breakfastsaloon was fun for the children but I did not like it. At the end of my breakfast I got the explaination. The cook came with a dish full of food and threw it to the birds. Not very pleasant.

I have stayed with my family in this hotel end of October 2012 , the hotel is located in a very good area , 5 minutes walk and you'll be in Taksim Square (Maydan) and Istiklal road also the bus and metro station.
the room and the bathroom were clean , the beds were done brilliantly every day with new white sheets.
The staff are really good and friendly, every time we want to hire a taxi they would arrange that and all the taxis we've used through them were excellent! they even tell you how much you would pay to go in such destination.
breakfast served on the ninth floor , the view is the surrounding buildings not the sea but it was a beautiful calming view , variety of food in a very relaxing climate.

the area is very quiet at night, though its located on a very lively area , no noises at all , you get to have some good deep sleep.
around the hotel there are a couple of shops , coffee shops , cold stores and restaurants all clean, good and reasonable prices.

it doesn't include any facilities like a gem and swimming pool, so if you are requiring a place just to stay the night in after a long day , I recommend Feronya :)

Room Tip: if you are booking online, better to request a room with a view, because we booked online and we got...

The hotel locates around Taksim square in a very nice area. Like other hotels in Istanbul its rooms are small but clean. The hotel staffs are helpful but you cannot expect very freindly people because of the culture. The breakfast was ok.

Wi-fi worked very well and was free of charge. I ordered a pick-up from/to the airport/hotel (30 €, 30 min to 1 hour each way, depends on the traffic) which they outsource and were very satisfied with it. The car was big and clean, I even got offered free water. Breakfast was on the ninth floor (view over surrounding buildings, not the sea) which I found delicious and plentiful. It only bothered me that they served just Turkish tea (no other types of tea).

Air-con didn't work; walls are very thin and it also bothered me very much that the shaft above the room was like a sound transmitter. I heard voices from nearby rooms and it felt as those people are literally sitting next to me. When they were taking shower or went to the toilet I got the impression it’s happening in my bathroom. I haven't experienced something like that before. It was very annoying.

Bed linen were clean but the carpet on the floor didn’t leave me with the same impression. Ceiling above the shower was just some non-fixed planks that could easily be lifted. Who knows what the purpose is… once I returned back to the room, I found a knife blade next to the sink (sloppy cleaners).

Only some of the staff speaks (very basic) English. If you have a problem, they “don’t understand" anything. I can’t say they seemed friendly to me. They asked my colleague to pay upon check-in but didn’t want to issue an invoice until check-out. I never got a transport receit which I asked for neither did they call me when I ordered a wake-up call.

Bottom line – I think you could find a better hotel in the neighborhood.

If you’re choosing among staying in Sultanahmet or Taxim district, I’d suggest you the old city: main tourist attractions are there and everything is within walking distance. If you’re not in the mood for a walk there’s a tram line that is much more convenient than an old tram in Taxim street or a funicular to Taxim square.
