Location fantastic, room comfortable, breakfast out of this world, staff helpful and terrace has amazing views. The experience of hearing, first hand, the call to prayer, was one of the wonders of the world for me.

Booked this hotel online on the recommendation of a golf buddy who stayed here a couple of years ago. The location is fantastic being only 200 yards from the Blue Mosque and a short walk to Ayasofya, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern and the Grand Bazaar as well as numerous restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The hotel is very comfortable with a great rooftop terrace where the complimentary breakfast is served with amazing views of the Blue Mosque. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms have a good free wifi and A/C (which is certainly needed when Istanbul warms up). The only criticism is that not all the rooms have tea/coffee making facilities - an unfortunate negative.

My mother and I stayed at Sari Konak for three nights and couldn't have been happier with the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and nicely appointed. We stayed in the Deluxe Double Room, which worked out very well as there are two separate sleeping areas (separated by half wall, half curtain).

The hotel staff was extremely helpful throughout out stay.

Best of all, we loved the rooftop with beautiful views. It was a great place for breakfast, a pre-dinner cocktail, or a nightcap.

The location is also ideal - a charming cobblestone street with very close walking to many of the main sights. Also, great restaurants around - highly recommend Rami Restaurant.

Close to Hagia Sophia, good starting point to discover the city.
Lovely and clean rooms with air conditioning, fair price, friendly staff.
Beautiful view from rooftop, where breakfast is served, couldn't find the bar though.

There are zillions of small hotels in Sultanahmed. Sari Konak is a very good choice
+ Good front desk service
+ Good breakfast with amazing view - Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Bosphorus all on view from rooftop terrace
+ Very pleasant deluxe/premium rooms
+ Will call taxis for you that won't cheat you
Things to be aware of:
- The standard rooms are small and rather lacking in personality. Probably true of all rooms in Istanbul in this pricerange, but consider splurging for the larger ones
- There is an elevator (+), but you need to first walk up 1/2 flight of stairs. People with mobility problems be aware
- This is one of the "most buried" hotels in Sultanahmed - pleasant, but you will have a slightly longer walk to the Hippodrome (and the tram stop there), and slightly longer taxi drive to the hotel coming from elsewhere (traffic is often awful the last 2-3 blocks)
- Not at all the hotel's fault, but the fish restaurant on the corner right beside the hotel seems to be well known as one of the worst scammy restaurants in this whole touristy area. Don't be fooled -- read the Tripadvisor reviews before going!

We stayed here in room 303 for 3 nights at the end of June. The staff at this hotel are highly service oriented. They were most helpful with directions, suggestions for restaurants, and arranging transfers to the airport. The room was lovely with a window seat overlooking the quiet street. This gave the room a larger feel. There was also a small refrigerator which was most helpful for storing bottled water. The bedspread was somewhat worn, but the bed was comfortable and the other linens were fine. The location was very good - within walking distance of most of the Sultanahmet sights (a bit far from the Suleymanye mosque). As other reviewers have noted, the rooftop terrace where breakfast is served was a delight with fabulous views and lots of greenery. It is, unfortunately, not open for dinner, but it is a lovely place to have a drink or snack in the late afternoon and evening. The breakfast buffet was varied and generous, although the hot dishes got to be a bit lukewarm as the morning progressed. The wifi worked well and there is also a computer and printer to which guests have free access. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is very reasonably priced and the service is 5 star quality. We definitely recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Some rooms do not have elevator access, so ask when booking, if this is a factor for you.

Hotel Sari Konak is an elegant and welcoming hotel. The roof top breakfast and bar area has spectacular views. With a turn of the head, you have the Bosphorus Sea in one direction and the Blue Mosque in the other.
The breakfast selection is vast and they do the best muesli and dried figs in the whole of Turkey and have good coffee too.
We stayed for five nights and have booked in for another two nights when we get back from travelling outside of Istanbul.
