Cordial House is a very good budget hotel. The hotel facilities are better than a regular budget hotel. The hotel staff is always ready to help. The best thing about this hotel is the location because all the major attractions are only couple of minutes walking away. Cordial House is the best for those who look for a nice budget hotel in the historical part of Istanbul.

This hostel was very crowded. We stayed in a 10 bed dorm which had insufficient room for our luggage. The street outside was really noisy as were the corridors. The breakfast was very basic. The public area had loud music and was often crowded with groups. This made it difficult to have some quiet down time. The bathrooms were ok, but not the cleanest. For the price I did not find it the best value for money and sought alternative accommodation. The location is good and the tourist information centre provided some helpful advice and a great deal on a 2 day tour.

We spent at Cordial House fm Aug.15 to 19, 2013. Cordial attendance, very well located fm where you can walk to the main interesting points in Istambul; even the elevator was out of order, and the room was little noisy and warm, we spent good time and the whole services were ok. I would recommend Cordial House - everything is solved for tourists- you can have a shower even if you have already made check-out.

We stayed at Cordial House for five nights. We arrived early in the morning and the man at reception kindly organised the room earlier so we could have showers after our long flights. Otherwise the staff were unfriendly and I actually heard one staff member say 'tourists!' after answering an accommodation enquiry from someone who'd walked in off the street,

Our twin private room with ensuite was hot n noisy. We faced the street and would hear the garbage trucks, singing men at 4am and travellers sitting on the steps opposite the hostel chatting after partying all night.

The kitchen facilities are non existent..no crockery, cutlery, toaster, anything much really to make your own meals.

The location was very good, very central and close to all attractions ant the trams. Two supermarkets are close by, so easy to buy food for beeakfast.

It's an expensive hostel for the rooms and service provided. Would choose to stay somewhere else next time and pay more I'd required.

This was a good hostel. i arrived in Istanbul very earlier, too earlier to check in but they allowed me to store my bag in the locker room so i could still explore the city fro the day. the location is excellent being only 2min from the tram line and only 5min from the Blue Mosque and the rest of the old city. just note that the area is very touristic so expect high prices in this part but there is a lot to chose from and reasonable prices can be found.

the hostel is very modern with friendly staff that speak perfect english. the beds are fine as are the showers and overall cleanliness. the wifi works great and i enjoyed my stay overall. a real issue though is that the lobby area is often very noisy with often a lot of people and kids around so unless your ok with that bring headphones.

This ironically-named hostel (it's not a hotel and the staff are not the friendliest) is in a good location in Sultanehmet. It's a 5-minute walk to attractions like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Topkapi palace is a 2-minute tram ride away too. A downside of the location is that most of the restaurants are touristy and overpriced.

The best thing about the hostel is the location. The rooms are tiny, hot and under-furnished for the price. You get literally a bed in the private rooms. Not even a bin is provided. The shower brackets in the shared bathrooms were all broken when I was there so you had to hold the shower attachment in one hand whilst washing yourself with your spare hand. Also, there are only two toilet cubicles for an entire floor in the male bathroom.

The computers provided for Internet access are unusable they are so slow and full of errors. I spent 20 minutes on one and still couldn't log into my e-mail. When I complained to the guy on reception, he told me to go to an Internet cafe and didn't even offer me my money back. When I asked to use the other computer he said that one was even worse. So he knew they were both useless and still took my money.

Overall, it's an ok hostel to use as a base for sightseeing as long as you don't spend too much time there or expect value-for-money.

Location was great as it was right by the Cemberlitas tram stop and right in the sultanahmet area. The lobby area was spacious and wifi was a available. The lobby had some games but it was hard to stay long as the seats were all hard wood and not so comfy.

The rooms were basic. I shared a double with my fiancé. We diet have an ensuite and the shared bathrooms were quite dirty and they ran out of toilet paper by the evening.

The value wasn't the greatest as it was quite expensive for what you got. However, that could be a product of the fact that istanbul is expensive.
