“The view was a great surprise”
Reviewed 27 October 2011

My daughter and I spent 4 nights. The first great surprise was the view from the room: a panorama of the Blue Mosque and Haya Sofya. The room itself was not very large, but beautifully decorated and comfortable. Housekeeping was perfect, good quality supplies, timely service. Great choice of breakfast items, all excellent apart for the orange juice, more like a lemonade. Location just off Divanyolu avenue and the tramway, but just far enough to avoid the noise. Helpful staff (Hi to Tina!). We will be back!

This hotel has a pretty and interesting lobby with leather furniture and ornate decoration. The hotel staff are attentive, most speak English well enough to serve your needs. The rooms are well appointed, ornate in decor, but very clean and nice. The bathroom is modern and immaculate. The breakfast is served in their upstairs restaurant with a drop dead gorgeous view of the Blue Mosque. The breakfast includes wonderful homemade yogurt, lots of interesting Turkish pastries and salads and olives. Theri location is ideal for sightseeing at the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, the Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. There are very nice restaurants close by.

The location, the view from the rooms and from the last floor restaurant and last but not least the variety of the breakfast menu, tuned this stay into an excellent Istanbul experience. For greater details, check our photos. By all means, we recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The upper, the better. Ask at least for a 4th or 5th floor room, if you want to gain a very nice vie...

This hotel is perfect, you are near of all touristic points and you can do almost everything just walking. The room and breakfest are really nice but the high point is the view on the last floor.
In front of you are the Sophia Museum (left side) and Blue mMsque (rigth side). Simply Fantastic.

We stayed 4 nights in September at end of our Turkey vacation.
Oppulent decor in lobby and rooms - some a bit too much for our taste. We had exceptionally nice rooms in other Turkish towns.
Reception person was very snooty, a shock compared to friendliness of most other Turks. Other staff turned out to be very nice
Had to change rooms after first night since shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Had to complain a couple of times to get moved. New room shower leaked a bit as well.
View from Roof Top is spectacular - single roof top toilet, not so much.
Hair dryer a real pain for my wife. No place to put luggage except on floor. Free water bottles stopped coming after 2 nights.
Location was convenient for walking to main attractions or catching the tram, but there appear to be other more modern hotels in the area.

Room Tip: Stay above 2nd floor to get a view above tree level. Look like a rich European.

My wife an I were recently in Instanbul for the first time and stayed at the Golden Horn Sultanahmet, it was a wonderful experience. Centrally located and convenient to all the historic attractions yet on a quiet side street we found it to be a perfect location. The hotel appears to be recently refurbished, everything was in great condition and clean as could be. The rooms were quite and ours had a very romantic decorative light in the ceiling! An extensive continental breakfast is served on the roof top terrace overlooking the old city, a beautiful way to start the day. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful especially Onder, who gave us great recommendations for restaurants. I would recommend this hotel highly.
