We wanted the complete Turkish experience which we experienced at the Golden Horn - the decorations & food were very Turkish. Location is great - the view from our very elaborately decorated rooms was the best part - The Blue Mosque. Aya Sophia & the Bosphorus right out our window. Tram 5 min walk as well. Hotel very clean & on the most part friendly. We had a conflict over the fresh orange served at breakfast. This is definitely NOT part of your paid for breakfast. Be aware - 10 TL extra will be added to your bill! We really enjoyed our 2 short ferry trips to Asia - people much more friendly & laid back there - not trying to hassle you to death to sell their wares. Thank you to Tina for all your help & diplomacy. Sherren & Keith, BC, Canada

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a view of the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia & the Bosphorus - absolutely unbelievab...

This Hotel is located in a very calm place but short distance of all you want to see and visit when in Istambul. Gorgeous decoration and confortables rooms, but the most important are friendly people that works in the Hotel. Tina and her friend are always smiling for "good morning" when you arrive for breakfast at the restaurant. Then you feel good all day long.
Around you can find good restaurants and good prices, even MacDonald´s for kids.

The Golden Horn was an excellent choice for me and my friends!!Couldn't have asked for a better location, The room was very clean and cozy the cuisine was excellent the staff was very friendly and helpful, I would have liked to have stayed longer just to see Tina's warm smile everyday but had to get back to Canada. Next time I'm in Istanbul it's Golden Horn for sure!!

We stayed in Golden Horn for 3 nights.Except for the location nothing is realy good like it was promised. Kitchen was closed due to renovation and we had plnned our diner t the hotel for we hve a 9 month old baby. After several email exchanges, hotel manager never mentioned it.
About the local sght seeing, The hotel reception person gives pick up time 15 minutes late than the actual time.We had asked many times about the tour program if it was advised with a baby for a Bosphorous cruise, the nswer we got was Yes, it will be a total boat ride and 2 hours of Palace visit. It was not the case, there was plenty of hop-off in dfferent places. My husband had to go back with the baby. I will also blame the tour operators because I contacted them the previous day and they said the same story.
Reception people were not too friendly. serious face and no smile. All that we had heard bout the place dint actualy come true for us...
Room sizes small, toilet too small, no place to keep ur toilteries etc. Rooms were not claned despite the sign hung on th door outside
I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
