“A more vibrant and intimate Mosque than the Blue Mosque”
Reviewed 18 August 2012

Situated adjacent to the Spice Bazzar, close to the Bospherous Ferry stops and a tram stop this is very much a working Mosque ~ busy with locals. But there is no queue to get in, no huge tour groups as in the Blue mosque and a far more intimate experience.

Due to its location it is easy to visit this Mosque and most worthwhile.

“Just a beautiful as the Blue Mosque”
Reviewed 5 July 2012

We thought the interior of this mosque was just as beautiful as the Blue Mosque, without all the lines and crowds.

“Another quite unique mosque”
Reviewed 2 July 2012

Yet another quite unique mosque that I found architecturally fantastic. Not as grand as the Blue Mosque but still worth a peek. Right near the Eminonu ferries and across from the Spice Bazaar entrance. Couldn't help but think of Venice with the water so close and the pigeons all over the front steps. Just sat in the shade of the courtyard a couple of times absorbing the ambiance, after a stint in the Spice Bazaar, eating freshly cooked chestnuts from the street vendor a few paces away.

“Nice but not as awesome as Sultan ahmet and Suleimanye”
Reviewed 1 July 2012

It is a nice mosque in Eminunu just before you cross the bridge. Visit it to see yet another interesting part of Istanbul. The spice bazar (Misir charshi) is just next to it if you would like to have some sweets and flavors from the orient to take back home.

“TREFFPUNKT”
Reviewed 30 June 2012

We could not enter the Mosque because of services.
The location of the New Mosque at the harbor, by ship and ferry terminal, the Galata Bridge, lots of small restaurants, the Egyptian Bazaar makes for an ideal meeting place. The vast grounds bustle with life, the steps invite tired feet to rest, and the nightly illumination is a treat for the eyes.
