Owner description: This mosque was positioned on a hill overlooking the harbor at Eminonu. Today, the local pigeons make their home in its graceful domes and arches.

Not musch to say really - it is a mosque that is not on the scale of Suleymaniye or the Blue Mosque. It is however big - if you are the Bosphorus tours terminal or by the Spice Market then pop in

Many tourists visit the area of this mosque (it's between the Eminönü piers and the spice bazaar), but apparently only few of them go inside. It's a pity: the internal decoration of this religious building is maybe the most beautiful in Istanbul. Well, tastes are different - I liked it very much, anyway.

It is very nice mosque and really old, when you enter inside you need to take off your shoes and dress decently. If I am not mistaken it must be forbidden to enter mosque with open hair for women, however they provide covers in the entrance. When you arrive to Eminonu from sea Yeni Cami meets you there.

For me its nice but sounds like more of the same. Maybe because I`ve been in others Muslims countries with better mosques. Of course if you go to spice bazaar you can spend few minutes to visit.

It is a beautiful mosque near the Misir Bazaar and Galata bridge. is a place we visit each time we go to Istanbul. Kids enjoy feeding the pigeons
