Owner description: Famed architect Sinan built this majestic structure for one of the greatest rulers of the Ottoman Empire. Although this mosque is less ornate, there are many similarities between it and the Hagia Sophia since the same architect was responsible for both.

Very large, truly magnificent and lacking the crowds of the Blue Mosque, it is truly awesome and grand, its peace on a grand scale.

Outside con one side of the Mosque is a row of food places all serving 'Beans and Rice' A plate of this with salad, bread and a drink is around 8TL, a good end to your visit.

“Worth the visit!”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

This mosque is less visited than Blue Mosque, so it's less people and crowded and also free entrance. It's close to Grand Bazar (in walking distance). It's worth to go there. If you don;t have proper clothes (for men, long pants and for women, knees covered, had & arms covered, they give you at the entrance things to cover your body, so it;s ok.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

This mosque is on a high hill and visible from far. Beautiful from inside and definitely worth a visit. A short walk from the Grand Bazaar so you can do the two on the same day.

“Well worth your trip to see it!”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

My son Kyle thought that this Mosque was the most beautiful one in Istanbul.

The clean simplicity of the interior decorations are what we loved most versus the ostentatiousness of the other Mosques and the great architect Sinan built it.

Go in the afternoon and you'll get great sunlight shining through the windows and light up the domes.

We took the tram and walked up the hill to the Faith Mosque and then walked by the aqueducts to get here.
