My friend and I have just returned from a 4 day stay at this lovely little hotel..Our room was very comfortable and looked over the railway line which wasn't a problem as there were only 2 trains a day.It was also quite near the local mosque but as I love the call to prayer,it didn't bother me at all.
The hotel is very central to all the major sights, although,as an older person who needs a stick,I did find it a bit of a trek.Saying that ,I would stay here again though as it is worth it for the friendliness and helpfulness of Hakan.Whatever he is paid, management should treble it as nothing was too much trouble for him and he always had a smile for everyone.
Breakfast was a real feast, juice, tea and coffee, cheeses, meat, eggs, fruit, cereal, jams and honey, olives and bread and 2 or 3 hot dishes.Amazing! Everywhere was very clean and tidy.
We can definetly recommend this lovely small hotel. The views from the breakfast room and the top balcony are wonderful.Just thinking about it all makes me wish I was there!
coffee,cheeses,meat,eggs,fruit,cereal,jams and honey,

Room Tip: Room 4 has a balcony with 2 chairs on it.

Naz Wooden Inn House is a small rustic hotel decorated with rustic furniture and Turkish handcrafts. The breakfast area is up on the roof top which overlooks Istanbul absolutely amazing view. The Hotel is in Akbiyik Degirmeni Sok. No. 7 Sultanahmet, walking distance to the Blue Mosque and Isofia and the Grand Bazaar and of course you can walk all the way down to the Spice Market. The reception area is very tiny but so quaint and welcoming, the staff is incredibly helpful. The Manager will go that extra mile for you. There was once a misunderstanding that I encountered and the Manager was extremely apologetic and gave me two nights free which I thought was totally amazing.
The rate is excellent value for money especially when you have to exchange rands. the atmosphere is charming, right outside the hotel is a tiny little shop that sells nibbles and beverages and open until late in the evening just in case you need that can of coke or that packet of crisp or perhaps a sweet intake. Mr Hakan such a friendly and helpful person really I do take my hat of for the service. One can walk everywhere and if you were coming home late at night you could go to the roof top and have yourself some coffee. During the day there is all sorts of sweet pastries like baklava and fruit which is served on the roof top. Naz Wooden Inn also has fully furnished apartments just down the quaint little cobbled street called Efendi Apartments, fresh clean fully furnished and you can stay there and have breakfast at the Naz Wooden Inn totally affordable. Apartments are cleaned on a daily basis.
One can also walk from Naz Wooden to the very very huge garden of the Sultaans, and pass through Topkapi Palace everything is within walking distance from the Hotel. It defnitely is not a boring walk beautiful quaint little shops along the way to shop at for me.
Well done Naz Wooden Inn Hotel.
I would recommend the Naz Wooden Inn anyday and I will defnitely return.

I had the privilege of staying at this lovely inn while visiting Istanbul for a few days on my way to Bangkok. What a perfect place! It's within walking distance of the Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, the Cisterns and the Topkapi Palace. And not terribly far from the Spice and Grand Bazaars (perhaps a 20-30 min walk. I'm not sure if I took the most direct route). And the inn itself is situated amongst a bunch of lovely shops and restaurants.

So, aside from being in a perfect spot for site seeing, the Naz Wooden House Inn is also a pleasure to stay at. The staff was ULTRA friendly and helpful, and my room was delightful. Very clean and it looked/felt very Turkish; staying there you get a sense of where you're at as opposed to staying at a Holiday Inn or Hilton. You're in Turkey... stay at a real Turkish dwelling!

I kept waking up too late to enjoy the free breakfast unfortunately, as I was still on Chicago time. But I did enjoy the free tea in the afternoon, and the view from the roof is amazing (free tea and coffee is upstairs).

When you also throw in the fact that this place cost about 1/3 of what most of the other hotels I looked at were charging this is a no brainer... I would recommend this lovely inn to anyone lucky enough to travel to Istanbul. I will certainly come back someday.

This cute little hotel is located just about a 7 minute walk to the blue mosque and other main attractions. The roof terraces are beautiful to have your breakfast on. My husband and I stayed here for a week. All of the staff were so nice and helpful, particularly the gentlemen named Hakan who supervises during the day. What a nice guy! He went out of his way to inform us of all the local things we could do, and roughly what we should be paying without being ripped off. Honestly, staff like him are what makes the hotel!

If your thinking about staying at the naz wooden house inn...book it! :)

I loved the atmosphere of this charming hotel. The service was fantastically efficient, friendly and helpful -- I was ferried from the airport by an extremely nice taxi-driver (a taxi service provided by the hotel), and the next morning Mr Hakan, at the desk, was wonderfully helpful with my blunders at the internet. My room, though small, was sweet, and the hotel is in a great location -- in the heart of the old city, Sultanahmet, and also near the quaint area of Cankurtaran. It has a beautiful dining-room at the top with views over old roof-tops to the Bosphoros on one side, and of the Blue Mosque on the other, which guests were allowed to use during the day.

We stayed at the Naz Wooden House inn for valentines weekend, my partner and I both agreed that the hotel and the staff were excellent not only in its location but also in the service that was provided! We arrived early evening on the thursday and the reception staff were more than helpful in providing us with tea, coffee and snacks. They also immediately asked us if we needed wifi or any maps for the area and were more than happy to help with any requests that we may have had We stayed in room 5 which was up 2 flights of stairs, the decor in the hotel although minimal was perfect for us. The rooms were always kept up to a high standard of cleanliness, however, if we were to comment on one thing, it was the fact that every evening when we arrived back from a busy day we could never find our belongings as the cleaners had always tidied them away. Breakfast was served at a perfect time for us between 8 and 10 - the lay out for breakfast was a wide selection from cereal to cheeses and salami with dried fruits and fresh juice tea and coffee provided throughout the day as well. The views from the hotel were spectacular on one side you had the beautiful hagia sophia and the blue mosque and on the other views of the bosphorus and the golden horn. The location was ideal walking distance to most things - only 5 minutes or so from the Sultanamet cami (blue mosque) and the hagia sophia. If you were looking to go further afield there was plenty of pubic transport, yet again places such as galata are within walking distance and more worth your while if you do walk as you will experience much more of Istanbul that way! One place we would recommend for a lovely evening of relaxed music and atmosphere is on the way to the blue mosque you will recognise it when you see it! As with wherever you go there will be people trying to get you to buy there product but that didn't bother us and they were always more than friendly! Overall we had a fantastic weekend away and will definitely be returning to the Naz Wooden as it was simply perfect!

We have stayed with Saltan Inn's network of hotels several time over the last two years & we have been very happy with the hotels & the staff. In practical Saltan inn & Naz wooden house inn have been our favourite stays & there staff member Hakan is a gentleman & very helpful with Istanbul & Turkey information. Naz wooden house inn rooms are nice, cozy & clean with good breakfast assortments, the location is fantastically situated behind the Blue Mosque which you get a great view of from on the teres .
