Stayed 5 nights and were delighted. Very comfortable, quiet room; excellent breakfast; copious hot water for lovely deep bath; very friendly staff; superb location ie three minutes from Sultanahmet Square. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Room 33 - great view of Sea of Marmara, esp at sunset.

My wife and i stayed here for four nights and have to say that the location of Erguvan is great. So, if you land here based on the TripAdvisor reviews expecting luxury 5* hotel accommodation, then change your mindset. What Erguvan is, is a charming boutique hotel with only a handful of rooms, so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a Hilton, Hyatt etc. For example when we arrived, during particularly bad weather in Istanbul, there had clearly been a leak in the reception area, and our room was a little bit small for what we were used to, and the pillows weren't the best in the world. HOWEVER, despite these negatives I will still give Erguvan a reasonably high score.

Firstly, the staff here are very honest, helpful and accommodating. We were greeted by a sit-down welcome, chocolates, minor admin and check-in, then all the major sights and attractions were pointed out on a map. This is a small hotel run by a team of very enthusiastic staff, who seem to see themselves as guardians of your holiday - its more than just staff who give you a room then forget about you. They love Istanbul and want you to love it too. Any question we had they answered, even when we phoned them while out and about. They also seemed like a good reference point, for questions about the city.

We were in a room facing the road, but the windows really do block out a lot of road noise, so this wasn't a problem, and if the weather is nice you get great views of Istanbul and the Blue Mosque at breakfast time from the terraces.

The other great feature is the location. The Blue Mosque is easily 3-5 mins walk away and so therefore Aya Sofia, Basilica cistern, Hippodrome, Topkapi Place are all in close proximity too. The grand bazaar is very close by, about 10-15 mins walk. Also, Buhara 83 restaurant is nearby for tasty grilled kebabs and chicken! After visting Hodpasha to see the whirling the dervishes, the taxi ride back was only 10Tl, and took only about 10-15 mins too.

Overall, we would stay here again.

We stayed a week here. It was wonderful. I state that because we moved to another section of the city and hotel as part of the tour. Neither the hotel or location was on par with the Erguvan. Breakfast on the roof terrace, the staff, the tiny court yard, windows that OPEN, the deep bathtub and the location in the old city made our first trip to Istanbul memorable. Housekeeping staff even seemed to follow the weather--a wool blanket appeared in the duvet cover the day before the weather turned chilly.

We recently returned home (October 12) after spending 8 special days at the Erguvan Hotel in Istanbul. We were totally satisfied with our accommodations and could not have been more pleased with the staff especially Murat. Everyone at the hotel was anxious to provide us with anything we needed. The breakfast was always an excellent way to start the day and our evening meals were very good as well. We would choose this hotel again if we were visiting Istanbul.

We stayed in the hotel because my sister in law organised a surprise 50 th birthday.

A really nice hotel , clean and tidy with comfortable rooms

The staff were friendly and helped to make it a fantastic weekend.

Good selection of food for breakfast and it catered for most tastes.

Excellent location only a few minutes from the blue mosque.

If I ever go back to Istanbul I would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw were of a good standard.

We (2 adults with a 15 yr old daughter) just spent 4 days at the Erguvan Hotel in Istanbul and could not have wished for anything better. The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk to transportation, Blue Mosque and overall centre of the old town, yet very quiet compared to similar hotels in the area. The hotel itself is small with a lot of personality (in a good way). You get to know the staff and they are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was lovely (typical turkish breakfast with enough selection for everyone) especially because its served on the top floor with a fantastic view. The internet connection was great, a must when travelling with a teenager. Our room was on the top floor, really nice and clean. Aircon worked well. Bathroom was great, lots of room and hot water. The hotel helped us organize drop off and pick up of reasonably priced laundry service. The taxi to the airport can be picked up right in front on the street and the current price (to Ataturk) is about 40 lira. For more adventurous souls, one can take a combination of tram and metro (really easy) for 6 lira. Enjoy!
