This hotel is a hidden gem located in the best section of Istanbul. The rooms are not luxurious but neither are the prices. It includes a sumptuous breakfast and has a rooftop lounge. The staff are fantastic - so helpful, kind and courteous. Stay here if you don't demand luxury.

We stayed at the Cihangir Hotel for a week in August 2010. The location is brilliant. Really close to Taksim square and all it has to offer. Cihangir area itself is lovely and there are a few really nice resturaunts and bars within a few minutes walk. The hotel itself was very quiet and the view from the balcony (Bosphorus view) incredible. Breakfast was fantastic and the rates really good value. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff (and we did have some bizarre requests!) The room was a little on the small side but perfectly adequate. It was clean enough but could have been cleaner and there was a bit of a whiff from the drain in the bathroom. However, I would stay there again and intend to! Please note, it is a steep walk to Taksim Square even though it is very close. If you have trouble with slopes on foot, this hotel is not for you. All in all however, highly recommended!
