This hotel has a good location. Just behind the hotel after a 200 metres walk comes Istiklal Street, one of the happening places in Istanbul having all sorts of shops, pubs and restaurants and thereon after a 15-20 minute walk, the huge Taksim Square. Also the Galata Tower is behind the hotel. To get to the old city areas of Sultanahmet, you can go to the Koraqu tram station within 15 minute walking distance.
As far as the hotel per se is concerned, I found it poor. The staff are not helpful. They can improve their English by heaps and bounds. Initially, I felt they were rude to me only but found them behaving in an off-hand manner with every guest staying there.
Also, no one comes to help you with the luggage. They staff may well need to be trained in courses concerning courtesy and hospitality.
If anyone wishes to stay here, stay for the location. Do not expect anything from the staff. Also heard from others that there are other hotels in Taksim Square. So getting to Istiklal street from Taksim Square will not be a problem. Even from Taksim Square, you can catch an underground metro to Kabatas station and then take a tram from Kabatas to the old city areas like Sultanahmet where Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace are located.More
