“Excellent location and attention!”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

The hotel location is optimal, a few blocks to the old part of Istanbul and most important monuments and is a few steps away from the tram station connecting to the new part of the city.
Receptionist always very willing to help and give the best of them. They are really kind and helpful.
Breakfast was excellent and rooms very clean and comfortable.
I strongly recommend everybody to reserve in this hotel.

We stayed 7 nights in this hotel. It was our first visit to Istanbul, I wanted it to be as much hassle free as possible. Specially so because we are a family of five, (2 adults and 3 kids) and it is not always easy to find hotel room accommodating 5 at a reasonable price. I started looking around on the internet a couple of months ahead of our planned journey in February. After reading a number of reviews, sent a few exploratory emails to different hotels.I was pleasantly suprised when Erboy hotel's management replied within few hours. In the following exchange of emails, the hotel manager ansewered all questions professionaly and offered a package at a reasonable price which included the airport transfer and a welcome dinner.
At our arrival late night at the airport, we found a number of other passangers waiting for the hotel transfer. It did take a bit of time before we were picked up as apparently the same van was shuttling between the airport and different hotels.
Anyway, at our arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed by the friendly staff as much as the lovely fragrance which fills the reception hall. Within few minutes we were in our room. The family room consisted of a bedroom and a sitting area where two mobile beds were added to accommodate us all. It was a bit cramped but very clean. The bedsheets were changed every day. The room is well sound isolated as not once did we hear the prayer all (azaan) from the nearby mosques. The hotel location is excellent, close to all points of interest. But it is not particular to it as most of the hotels advertised online are located in the same area.
The complementry buffet breakfast is great with a wide range of turkish and european food. We found the staff serving the breakfast extremely kind and helpful.
In short, we had a lovely time in this lovely city. The only drawback is restricted view from the hotel. In our next visit, yes Istanbul needs to be visited as many times as possible, we will probably stay in another hotel to have a different experience but we surely do not regret choosing Erboy hotel for our first visit.

What hotel manager gives you her cell number and guarantees that they will fix any issues, 24/7, you may have? None that I've experienced in the USA anyway - but she sure did at the Erboy. She left it for us in a letter placed on our pillows when we arrived. And everything was terrific from there - breakfast was phenomenal, noise not an issue, location was perfect, great neighborhood, employees always responsive, cleaning staff totally on top of everything. We even received free dinners in their excellent restaurant for staying 8 nights. In fact, we were eating when I heard a jazzy version of "Happy Birthday" begin playing on the restaurant radio, and I said, "Yikes, I hope that's not for me..." and it indeed it was, complete with beautiful, artful cake. Of course, my passport said it was my birthday, but we certainly mentioned nothing about it. Nothing but good to say about this hotel.

Room Tip: From what I could tell, they're all great rooms. I never heard our neighbors, and never heard an...

I booked this hotel for his 3 guests family room. Having been in Istanbul for 4 times already and in Sultanahmet neighbourhood especially I knew I couldn't ask too much from the small hotels there. Well I was totally wrong, this hotel location with the metro stop around the corner, cleanliness, amenities (kettle ,a/c, toiletries ,mini fridge) of the room, breakfast, restaurant and the wonderful helpful friendly staff made our trip unforgettable. So thank you Erboy family and especially Mrs. Ayse Sancak (guest relations manager) for your advices and your concern!

Room Tip: All rooms are good

Great staff. Thanks a lot for all the receptionnists, smiling faces and helps. They helped us to get the bag that one of our friends had forgotten in Anadolu Hisari, a guy from hotel went to Eminonu to have the bag back, from the Bhosphorus Boat and the reception's goodwilling is worth.
Room service was excellent too. Only thing negative, is the construction next building, and I woke up on saturday with a terrible drill noise in my head! And that continued on all day long and the next day, if you want to sleep, it's impossible between 9am-5pm. So, don't forget to ask if there is construction nearby, while making reservation.

Spent two night here in mid November- lovely little hotel and perfectly positioned for all the major sights and mosques and a 2 minute stroll to the tram network which is the best way to get around istanbul (less hassle than taxis and much cheaper) . The breakfast was wonderful and all staff friendly and helpful- especially Ayse , the lady who welcomes you when you check in- really lovely and helpful- she helps with all the best advice for tours and sightseeing . I would highly recommend this hotel. Don't bother with the more expensive ones- this is great value for money if all you want to do in Istanbul is see the sights and stay in a comfortable and perfectly adequate hotel- the rooftop terrace ( unfortunately closed in winter months) gives a great view of the Bosphorous also . All in all a little gem! Highly recommend!
