We travelled to Turkey for the first time and after checking the reviews on TA by various travelers for months and on the recommendation of our travel agent (True Blue Tours) we finalized the hotel. Before arriving, as per the reviews that we had read we thought that it would be a just an ok place to stay but on the contrary when we arrived we were overwhelmed as it is indeed a GREAT place to stay being ideally located in the Sultanemat area. Everything was at a walking distance be it Hagia Sophia, Underground Cistern, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Bosphorus Cruise etc.. and most importantly the Tram which connects you everywhere you need to go.

More importantly I would like to share the warmth of this hotel’s staff - a sense of ‘we are there for you throughout’. We were greeted very warmly by the wonderful Guest Relations Manager Ms. Ayse Sancak. She really cares for all her guests. Assigned us a great room with a view and more importantly a very good breakfast compared to other hotels we stayed in Turkey. Free Wifi throughout the hotel and a personalized welcome letter.

We have an enjoyable experience. Initially we had planned to stay a total of 3 Nights, two on arrival to Turkey and after completion of our tour to other cities we planned to stay one more night before leaving back to Pakistan. This is where things get really interesting when we were about to end our tour and return back to Istanbul we liked Turkey so much that we decided to increase our stay for two more days and so we did but we hadn't figured out where to stay as we did not have any reservations. On the way back from Cappadocia while we were on bus when out of the blue I get this email from Erboy and its Ms. Ayse saying Hello and asking about our travel and our safe trip back as they are waiting for us.... WOW! this is what you don't expect and at that instant I wrote her back and asked for further reservations... And this is not it… when we got back we were on a very short budget but we didn’t want to check out and move to another hotel and guess what we did visit other hotels all the ones nearby believe me none compared to the lavishness of Erboy. Ms. Ayse extended the best package to us with discount and we continued to stay with Erboy for another two days.

We have travelled to various countries and stayed in many hotels but none providing a second home coming experience as Erboy. Thank you Erboy for a great experience. The reason for sharing this experience is that it is an experience which you don't even get from 5 star hotels. It’s a super initiative and I am very happy that we selected Erboy hotel in Istanbul. It’s the small things that matter and it really will be a memory for times to come or till our next visit to Istanbul.

Just a few minutes walk from the tram, but calm and safe location. Excellent service. Very clean. Nice room with balcony (over ped. street) and very nice and well-working bathroom. The breakfast has everything you can ask for. First night we had late dinner in the restaurant, excellent service, tasty food and good wines, best meal in Istanbul during our weekend here.

Room Tip: we had a great room with balcony at 3:d floor.

We chose the hotel for price and location. Would repeat our stay based service and our experience. Our stay was Nov-Dec 2013 for 2 weeks.

LOCATION: Erboy's Sirkeci (sir-keh-ji) district location put it:
(1) 3 very, very short blocks from the Gulhane Tramway station. To the WEST the tram takes you to a.Topkapi Palace ,b.Hagia Sophia, c.Blue Mosque, d.Arasta Bazaar, e.Grand Bazaar, f.Calligraphy Museum, etc. To the the EAST the tram takes you to a.the ferry dock for all ferries, b.Egyptian Market/Bazaar, c.Galata Bridge, d.access to the New Town and istaklal Street, and d.the new entry to the Marmaray Metro in the old railroad station so you connect Asian side under the Bosphorus (opened 10/2013),
(2) Good street connections for a taxi trip to Ataturk Airport via Kennedy Cd. (Street).

PRICE:
1.Discounts for cash (Euro, US Dollar, Turkish Lira) payment at time of check in.
2.Free meal in the hotel restaurant based on # of days.
3.Free airport transfer based on # of stays.
4.Reduced price for off season.

SERVICE/RATES/VALUE:
1.Can provide you with your Istanbulkart metro/ferry/tram/light rail card for a 10TL deposit.
2.Front desk is crisp and business like.
3.Customer Service Rep. Ms. Ayse answered 1 to 10 questions a day for 14 days!! Made taxi and other arrangements for us. Great for shopping tips and answers to touristy questions.
4.Our rate was discounted due to winter off season rates, number on nights, We gained free airport transfer and free night in hotel.
5.Morning free breakfast was just great. If you need fried eggs or a.m. bacon and pork sausage you are out of luck any where in Turkey.
6.The building is adequate, a bit old, and obviously remodeled. There is good value here. If you need a nicer stay go to the Sirkeci Group site and pick one their award winning up scale and pricey properties.

RESTRAURANTS in and near the hotel:
1.The in house Pasazade Rest. is top notch. Try it you will like it. This restaurant and others owned by the 5 hotel Sirkeci Group are excellent. This review is from 40 years of business and pleasure travel experiences.
2.Many of the surrounding restaurants are just pure crap. Sorry to be so blunt. This close to so many important tourist sites and a short tram ride to the cruise line dock, a lot of short stay visitors fall to pray the first place that satisfies hunger and thirst AND WRITE STRANGLY VERY GOOD REVIEW OF SOME OF THE WORST RESTAURANTS I HAVE EVER USED. Many, many have the same menu (common owner) and seductive AND PUSHY outside salesmen. You have been warned.
3.For good reasonable street side restaurants take a short 3 to 5 block walk to Hocapasa (Hoja-pasha) Street near Hocapasa Mosque for abundant choices of good quality low priced fare -- locals eat here. How about a glass of fresh squeezed pomegranate juice for 5TL?

Room Tip: Some reviews complained of street noise and tram noise. Well the street noise from the side steet w...

Excellent hotel location, near all the important monuments. We really admired the employees kindness, helpness and hospitality. The breakfest was ok, but could have been better. Rooms clean. Very friendly environment. Very good value for money. Free Wifi. The tram stop is just one minute walk, so the connection to the city is very good. Also good connection with the airport. If I go to Istanbul again, I will definatelly choose this hotel again.

The service at this hotel could not have been better. The staff was super friendly and helpful from the minute I arrived to the second I left. You get the idea that they really do get what service is about. The room I had was also very clean and comfortable and the wifi internet worked well.

The hotel is located very near all the main attractions and is perfect if you need to fit in a lot of sights in a short period of time.

Before I arrived I did some research on where I would like to have dinner and was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant I chose (Pasazade) is actually part of the hotel. I made a good choice!

Istanbul is an amazing city and staying at Erboy Hotel will add to a wonderful experience.

arrived in Istanbul at 5 p,m, on nov 5. prearranged free transport to erboy was waiting and quick. driver was friendly and took some back streets because of rush hour.
at hotel check in was great. offered us an apple tea as we waited for the paperwork. the discount for paying in euros was offered without having to ask.
room was small, but its the old city. clean, plenty of hot water.
staff at all times went out of their way to assist with any question. purchase an Istanbul kart from hotel desk, was a recycled one. had over 15 lira worth value still on it from previous owner(whhoo hooo).
location is great. tram stop just a few steps away. gulhane down the street.
luckly the roof bar was still open<closed my last night there). view is amazing, beer was about 9 liras($4.50) for a large one.
great stay and a good price.
