It was at 5 minutes walk from Taksim Square. The room and the bathroom were very small. In night it was hot: we couldn’t sleep with the air conditioner on, because it was noisy and it was getting too cold, we also tried to leave opened the window, but a lot of noise was coming from the street. We could also hear when someone was passing on the hall, or entering the next rooms. The breakfast was also not very impressive, rather poor. For one night it is acceptable, but only for the great location.

I chose this hotel since it had a high rating on multiple websites but after experiencing it I found that it is highly overrated. The rooms are very small, the room wasn't cleaned well upon check-in, most of the staff were barely friendly. Breakfast was very poor, I didn't understand how it was called a continental breakfast. I thought this hotel was a good one but was a three star hotel because it lacked the facilities other places had but it turned out to be that three stars are too much for such place. The only thing I enjoyed in this hotel was its location. It was right next to taksim square but at a calm street, also right in front of a bus stop so transportation was very easy. I ended up paying almost the same as a four star hotel which definitely would have had a better value for money.

me and my wife spent 5 nights on our first visit to Turkey. it was great n all means. the staff are very helpful and cooperative and tried always to help whenever we had any inquiries they showed us directions and gave us advice on how to reach our destinations. the room was small but we never cared as we could enjoy the views of many of Istanbul's attractions from our seventh floor room. the food was good (breakfast) but it was the same everyday. English was the main problem as only few staff could speak it but wasn't a major problem. all in all we were happily satisfied upon leaving the hotel and sad that our vacation was over very fast.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view as the hotel is surrounded by other buildings .

Rooms are too small but who wants to stay in room when you are so near to Taksim. Hard to find by any taxi driver and the street is very very steep, still a good value for money. 3 minutes walk away from Taksim square and Taksim metro station. I had a double room on 7th floor with a nice view of road. Lift is the smallest one I have ever seen in my life and my wife felt suffocated each time we used lift it. Breakfast menu is limited but healthy enough. The best thing is location and you can make as many trips to lively Taksim you want and of course for free (by walk).

Room Tip: View from window isn't that great so no benefit in taking room in upper floors, rather you will...

Stayed 2 nights and that's it. Hard to find even by a local taxi driver and he end up stop at Marmara Hotel and we walked down the street in the raining day for 200m. Lift are really really small that we need to go up first, then the staff bring our luggage later. Room are small and they gave us 2 small beds instead of 1 big bed that we requested, they promised to change our room for the second nite but nothing was done!!Bathroom are too smalls as well. Staff are not friendly. Worst hotel I have ever stayed. Not a 3 star hotel at all. Had stay at 3 star hotel in a poor country and it was way better than this. Wont come back.

Taksim Star Express is located approx 200 metres from Taksim Square. a major hub in Istanbul. The hotel is adequate even though our room was small, including the shower. The toilet/sink was leaking water each time we used it, but was reported but not fixed whilst we were there. However, as we spent most of the day sightseeing, it had little impact.
Taksim Star Express is down a steep slope , so i would not recommend this hotel for people with mobility problems or a wheelchair user. Also, as mentioned before the room and lift are small so a wheelchair user may find it difficult to transfer safely.
Breakfast was fine, but limited choices daily. I would chose this hotel due to the location and price. It is centrally located to many major sights and the transport system from the square is excellent.Buy a Istanbulkart (similar to the London's Oyster card.) at any bus station or outlets showing the Akbil sign.
We travelled from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (SAW) airport to Taksim via the transport bus and it cost approx £4. At the last stop, main bus station , you cross over the road and you will be facing Taksim Mamara Hotel. Walk to your left and take the second right. Taskim Star Express is 100 metres from that point. ENJOY!!

Room Tip: We were in room 104, that appeared the smallest of all the other rooms on our floor.

I received very nice double room at the seventh floor with panoramic view on the street. Room size was quite comfortable, in contrary to what I expected considering the general reviews that I read about hotels in Istanbul. Rooms are very clean, with comfy bed and bathroom. It’s on great location, at the Taksim square, which makes it good value for the money considering the hotel prices in this area.

I managed to wake up on time for the breakfast only ones from three days, and my opinion is that the food choices should be enriched.
