“Great Turkish Experience”
Reviewed 19 January 2012

Hotel Sapphire has a real Turkish feel to it and we were really impressed with the style and quality of the room decorations. Think gold cornices, inlaid timbers doors and dresser. Completely different to the run of the mill chain hotels. We loved it. The room was quite small, which is fine for two, but if you are planning for a party it will be too small.
There is an incredible array available on the breakfast buffet, both Western and Turkish, hot and cold. It was a high point of each day.
Sapphire is in a quaint lane way in the heart of the tourist area. We walked to all of the tourist areas and were very comfortable strolling around to select a restaurant for dinner each evening, though one of our favourites was straight across the lane.
We made good use of the free wifi and really appreciated the free pickup from the airport. My wife is very sensitive to cigarette smoke, but there was no problem here. I guess it depends which room you get and who was in there last.
The staff are all really helpful - no request is too difficult and they all have good English.

We booked for four days from the 10th to the 14th of january after reading some review bothe
From booking.com and trip advisor. It was not as I expected.rooms are a little too small.and the towels Are too old.I think they can afford to put a new one specially that turkey is known for it's
Good quality towels.also the rooms are heated by the AC system which is too noisy.also it hard to take a shower because the shwer room is too cold.the good think about the hotel is the location which is in the heart of most tourist site also to the tramway station is very near(sirkeci
Station). the front desk service is very professional and very helpful if you need any advise just don't hesitate to ask them.Beds are comfortable but a bit small.the best way to get from the airport to the hotel is the tramway to sirkeci station which is very near to the hotel course if u r not carrying a heavy suitcase

This hotel is really in the center of everything, but on a quaint narrow street that adds to the ambiance. Our room was very clean and the staff were extremely gracious. We'll take a hotel like this any day over the more grandiose western style hotels.

We stayed here over the w/e 6-9 Jan '12. Staff are ourstanding/exceptional. Small rooms with free tea/cofee/kettle facility, electonic safe and very warm c/h. Free wifi. Only had breakfast meals - huge and varied menu in a comfortable dining area. Pool, - not used. Hotel ideally placed for old Istanbul attractions, but not recommended for children - little for them to do. Highly recommended @ €177 per twin room for 3 nights for a couple.

Room Tip: Ask for non-street facing.

Saphire Hotel is a budget hotel with average service with a good location. We didnt expect more but we expected at least a clean bed. The linen was not clean ! Only the location was perfect. Dont ask the staff about restaurant recommendations. I think they are getting commission !

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and can't recommend it enough. It has a great location from where you can walk to all the main sights of Istanbul, very helpful staff, beautifully decorated rooms, excellent sauna/jacuzzi/swimming pool and great amenities. The only disappointment we had was with the breakfast. Everything looked so tired and the taste was at least not appealing to western taste. We had turkish breakfast in other hotels and it was a lot nicer. But this is just a small point as the food is incredibly cheap in Turkey so its easy enough to have breakfast somewhere else.

Would stay here again when we are in Istanbul and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We were given superior rooms that are small but tastefully decorated.
