I have to agree with other reviews, the staff at the Hotel Sapphire are what makes a stay here so special. They are so welcoming and hospitable it really feels like a home from home. The Hotel is very clean and well appointed and the location would be hard to beat.
I highly recommend this Hotel and would book again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good sized, clean rooms and wide ranging buffet breakfast included in room rate. Comfortable lounge with free internet access. Excellent location for visiting the sights of the old city and also close to the waterfront. Many good, reasonably priced restaurants near the hotel. Strongly recommend the use of 'Backpackers Travel' airport shuttle service for transfers; they were excellent.

My husband and I have just come back from our second stay at this fantastic hotel. This time we took along a couple of friends who were just as impressed as we are. As others have commented, the staff are absolutely top class, so helpful and friendly.

The rooms are smallish, but well equipped and very clean. The breakfast buffet was superb and the location is perfect. Every major attraction in Istanbul is within a few minutes walking distance and there is a tram stop at the end of the road for travels further afield. The surrounding streets are filled with restaurants all of which seem to have the friendliest waiters on the planet and it was even warm enough to eat outside at the beginning of May which just added to the great atmosphere.

Another bonus of the hotel is the swimming pool in the basement. Perfect to relax in after a hard days sightseeing.

We recommend this hotel 100%.

this hotel was really nice, great location just a few minutes walk from Topkapi palace and the tram system
Ali, one of the guys at reception was really friendly and always willing to help
The breakfast spread was amazing! so much food, the only problem is that it wasn't labelled so we have no idea what we were eating. stear away from the cerials though, they were pretty tasteless
Our room was pretty small but the bathroom was bigger than we expected
Definately a good place to stay, right in the center of almost everything

It is fair to say that I have stayed in many hotels in my lifetime. Some were great, while others were thoroughly disappointing. The Hotel Sapphire or Safir (in Turkish) was one that exceeded all my expectations. As soon as I arrived in the Ataturk airport, the driver of my shuttle to the hotel was waiting for me right on time. At the front desk of the hotel, I was immediately handed a welcome drink and a delicious tidbit of Lokum (Turkish Delight). The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Their breakfast buffet, which came with the stay, was phenomenal. More than 5 kinds of breads, breakfast meats, cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables to choose from. There was fresh yogurt with all kinds of toppings and syrups to start your day. The orange juice offered to all the diners was freshly squeezed! My room was cozy, and clean. The bathroom was a good sized bathroom. My only advise is to ask one of the staff to teach you how to manipulate the programmable heating/AC controls. I tried fidgeting with it and ended up with no AC. However, one call to the front desk and all was well. It is also centrally located close to all the major sites like the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, New Mosque, Spice Bazaar and the Grand Bazaar. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Istanbul.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in April. Every staff member went out of his or her way to make our stay memorable. The rooms were small, but very charming. The location can't be beat. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Hotel Sapphire. We would highly recommend that if you are going to Istanbul to stay at this hotel. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and also to help you with information, directions and whatever else you may need. Excellent location as it is walking distance to most of the major sites. If we ever return to Istanbul we would stay with them again.
