Very good international hotel in the middle of the Old City, small distance to the main attractions (Haghia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque etc.). Very well connected by public transportation to all city areas, tram stop Gulhane (one stop from Sultanhamet, Old City). Professional and kind staff, helpful in any occasion.
Good room, a little small maybe, some stains on the blankets but the overall cleanliness was good. A good place to stay when you want to visit Istanbul and be quiet; all around the hotel there are many restaurants and shops, it's a good area to spend the night.

Rooms are particularly small, 1st room they gave me is a twin and even on my own I found it very small, I have to put my suitcase on the second bed to walk to toilet. Second room is a king and a bit larger. Services were okay, though they are not very good in giving directions, of course anyone know how to take a taxi why need them to tell me. Definitely do NOT go for the tour company they recommend, you get much cheaper and better ones at the local tourist info. They cut the locations you get to go to, make lots of racist jokes, cannot answer much cultural/historical questions about the places and simply unfriendly in general. Later I found that the same boss own that tour company. So in general, other reviews are a bit generous (reason why I pick this one) and a bit overprice for the whole experience but very close to the attraction points.

Front desk staff were knowledgable, helpful and courteous. The room was beautifully cleaned daily with fresh linen daily. Quiet room in central location within walking distance of most historic sites. Very good breakfast menu. Tea and coffee making facilities in room and efficient air conditioning. Highly recommended.

The hotel takes place in a very convenient location. It is clean providing with good facilities (eg free WIFI, free computer terminals, pool and sauna).Rooms are small but functional. (maybe it is to be expected to get small rooms in the old part of town ). The staff is very outgoing and helpful. Concerning the breakfast, it is ok but in my opinion it could be better.

They give you a drink and turkish delights while you're checking in, and a box of turkish delights along with a gift pack of turkish apple tea when you leave..... and in between the hotel staff are always friendly, courteous, polite and very helpful.

The rooms are great, bathrooms spotless and you have everything you need in the hotel, including free wifi plus computers in the lounge for your use if you haven't brought your laptop.

The hotel is situated perfectly - just a short walk from many of the major sights and in a pedestrianised area with plenty of good restaurants and bars, but not noisy or boisterous at night.

Hotels like this are what tripadvisor are for - before tripadvisor you might've got a recommendation from a friend or two, but their stay might have been some time before, or there might be a difference in quality of rooms within the same hotel.... or you'd pay the money for a 5 star hotel (and even then often be disappointed!).
Now you can check out dozens of reviews (or in the case of Sapphire, hundreds of reviews) and be failrly sure that even for well under 100 euros a night you're going to get an excellent hotel.
