a museum that is full of great art from famous artists but their exhibitions usually change every couple months. Check it online before heading that way and avoid rush hour, right after work.

Not very interesting especially when you are accompanied by kids . Not recommended if you have to spend few days in Istanbul.

Fantastic facility and wonderful exhibition. Check what's on before you go because not all exhibitions may be as good as this was.

Museum is not located very close to old city center, but you can easily go there by taking ferry or bus (not recommended in rush hours). Emirgan, Sariyer, where museum is, wonderful neighbourhood and locals generally prefers here to go to pricey cafe, bar, bistros. Museum has a little park, and would be nice to sit and take a breath under the trees while watching bosporus. Then you can visit museum. Museum has two parts and one part changes according to exhibitions whereas other is dedicated to calligraphies. Strongly advised if you d like to see word-class but a small museum. Ticket price is around 5 euro by March 2014.
