“Awful place. Avoid at any cost!”
Reviewed 14 December 2012

This hotel is awful. Avoid at any cost. I arrived there after a long trip but could not even stay for that first night they had lied about everything, shuttle, kitchen, and the room was so dirty, the shower was on the toilet and while i cancelled paying for the first night, they told me they later charged me for a no show. They are really awful. I spent so much time and money just to find another place and also to get my credit back but they kept lying and never gave my money back. This place is the worst and their agents the worst i have ever had in any place. The room was so small, the bed so dirty i could not even stay for five minutes and ran out of the room. They had lied about everything.

Try to avoid this establishment at all cost. They offer on the booking websites services they do not provide (shuttle from the airport, breakfast), they charge you before giving you the key (probably so that you cannot see the horrible conditions before paying), the rooms are dirty, in a very bad shape, in a seedy area where it feels really unpleasant when it gets dark - providing you can find the apartments at all as they are located in small streets even taxi drivers do not know. The service is unpleasant, unprofessional, downright rude. Worst place to stay in a city that is otherwise amazing and has a lot to offer even for a much smaller price.

Room Tip: Do not stay there!!!

Travellers are raving about these Istanbul hotels

Coming in Istanbul for tens of times in the last 14 years, being overwhelmed by Turkish hospitality, in good and nice hotels - cannot name them now because of the review writing policy - decided this time to see how the Turkish top service is like not only in top 5 stars big locations, but in a small boutique hotel, too....
Expected too much, given the above positive experiences, and here it is:
Hotel not available for sale on public reservation sites, showing no available rooms - why ?
But on the other side, they will help you with pleasure if you get in touch with them directly, via their website, unfortunately trying to sell you something totally different than they really have there.
We have to make it clear, this is not the regular Turkish approach (usually they try to sell the real thing and get a good price for it if you cannot negotiate better, not this way, charging you an apparently lamb sum for a special thing, when is actually the other way around, selling you something unlikely to be purchased if you knew all details about beforehand )
Fact is that everything is build up in the web-sites to make you believe they have something classy to offer, but what's even worse is the fact that even when you come on site and realize the big lie, they do not accept the fact that they have sold you a lie.
What they bet on is the fact you will arrive rather late, and you will have no other option then staying there, even threat you they will not wait you to see around, and will cancel the lousy reservation you made for the case you try anything else, forcing you the hand from the very beginning.
Never found before any Turkish people to do business in such way....
Details of location are not provided in clear on their website, though, on purpose misleading, as pictures and limited other information.
No room to put some luggage around the so called ''beds''.
''Beds'' are actually some extensible ones, not real beds, so there is nothing about comfort and cosy-ness.
For the picture showing the kitchenette, actually the beds were folded away, otherwise there is no room to stand up and try - why would you do that? - and make yourself a coffee...
The reason there are only details on the pictures, and not full views of the room is that everything is of a matchbox scale and there is almost impossible to take such wide view picture, even with a wide digital professional lenses camera. Asked them repeatedly to provide fresh pictures of the rooms and the views from the windows or the only one balcony (so called terrace) ..., obviously, they didn't do it, words only.... rooms size stated double than real...a.s.o. about a luxury and style in a boutique hotel which is boutique only by size - this is maybe the only true thing about it.... far behind any true boutique standard...
Being used with Turkish hospitality and honest approach, got lured into it, huge mistake!
Access stairs are 0.5 m wide, spiral, you'll get dizzy reaching first floor only, so if you have to use them more than once is another reason to be highly recommended to go elsewhere. Obviously, there is no elevator, as the building footprint is so narrow - therefore, impossible to carry a trolley up...
On top of this, the smell in the room seems worse than the worse night club one has imagined - as there is no other worse, to be found in the real life - at the morning closing hours...'roaches and rats should be present, given the smell around... cigarettes smoke, impossible to inhale heavy air...
There is also ''an executive suite'', one room accessed directly from the street, ground floor (but they call it first floor!!!!) - the one with the kitchenette, photo taken with the beds folded away, and another room underground (basement), accessed via a spiral stair as well, dark, dim light, red walls, exactly as a red light location... a floor to ceiling steel bar is missing for a hooker to show off her show, bringing some value to the place..... Ceiling is not higher than 2.0 m in the basement.
The only convenience about this one is that you do not have to use the spiral stairs and pass the Royal Air Force altitude and vortex test....
One of the reason for that could be the fact that most of the time this place seems to be used for one-night - or one hour - type of accommodation, for hookers and their clients and since those are their basic clients, they cannot afford to loose, which makes them '' sold out '' on public websites. Except for those who are really '' bought'' into the mirage sold....
They have another building, The Bridge Hotel, which can be found as another stand alone hotel on the public reservation sites, pictures are common, though, aiming to confuse you and forcefully get a reservation (unfortunately the public reservation sites didn't notice that to ban them).

Room size is something like 15 sqm, which is something like half of what they promise, actually the room is not much left around the three beds in the red framed wall mirror picture, for instance, beds edges are not more than 0.5 m from walls or other furniture elements.
Beware as you will definitely become claustrophobic as you get in - if you are not already and go into the most severe crisis ever.
Actually everything is worse than that, and the place is highly close to get a similar rating from any decent traveler, who knows everything from a five star place to a budget or backpackers place like.
One could not like it even for free, better to sleep in the car - if you came by one.
Impossible to explain the other fantastic ratings - which makes you choose the place, eventually - they seem to be fake reviews, couldn't prove it unless you see the reality on the place
Definitely not recommended, you won't stay there unless you have no money, they give it to you for free and is raining outside... as the Istanbul weather doesn't stop you to sleep under the clear sky, at least during the summer time, which would be better for everybody.
Indeed, the surrounding area is nice, full of old and new city, luxury and traditional, but this is the lowest possible, to be avoided in any surroundings, city or country, regardless the price, there is no value not for money, but for nothing.
Wishing you all a fantastic and memorable experience in Istanbul
