I read Orhan's book a month ago and I loved it so much, that I now consider it one of my favorite books. Yesterday, i happened to be in istanbul for vacation and trip advisor showed this museum as one of the attractions. I was so excited about it, I couldnt sleep. the museum exceeded my expectations.it is beautifully designed; each stand representing a chapter of the book. It is definitely one of the best experiences i've had; watching my favorite book come to life. If you loved the book and you're in town, don't miss this.( if you bring your copy of the book, you can go in for free )

It is the result of the book which takes the same name. One should read the famous writer Orham Pamuck to visit this place.

Loved the book. So it was necessary to visit this museum. Didn't know anything about the museum in advance. It was a strange, surrealistic museum; like the book is.
Afterwards I got to know, that Pamuk has himself collected all the items, and done the collages.

Now I have an urgent need to reed the book again.

Being a huge Orhan Pamuk fan, I was determined to visit this museum on my trip to Istanbul last october; and surely I wasn't disappointed. The book is all about love, longing, yearning and nostalgia and the museum manages to capture that essence in its totality... Most of all, its located in the lovely quaint district of Cucurcuma and as a traveller one gets to experience a very different side of the city. I'd go there again in a heartbeat :)

Orhan Pamuk’s creativity is on display at this new museum, which opened in April 2012. Each chapter in his book, the Museum of Innocence, is matched with a corresponding display case with items related to the chapter. Although the museum is potentially of interest to those who haven’t read the book, the museum is best enjoyed after have read the book recently. Admission is 25 Turkish Lira, but those who buy the book can find a coupon at the end that permits entry to the museum. The museum has a basement book shop filled with Pamuk’s books, but it was out of English and French versions of Museums of Innocence when we visited. The museum is within easy walking distance of Taksim in a relatively quiet residential neighborhood.
