This is a very small hotel, nicely refurbished. Our room had a tiny balcony, that we could just squeeze on to, but had a great view of the sunset over the Bosphorus. It's a short walk from the Blue Mosque and other classic sites. It's an area of mainly residential housing, with some very old wooden houses (one right opposite), which adds to its charm. Breakfast is good, taken in a tiny courtyard. Staff were very friendly but with varying English and some more able than others to give advice. Our room was expensive for what it was but Istanbul is not cheap. The main benefit for us was that we could walk round the old city and return for a break at lunchtime. At the same time, we were able to walk into the centre and indeed down to the fish restaurants at Yeni Kapi in the evning to find restaurants without resorting to cabs.
