“Amazing Hotel and Team well trained”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

Nice lovely hotel within walking distance to Aksaray Tram Station which basically takes you all and about the Old Sultanamet (old city) area of Istanbul and also towards the other side where Taksim Square is. Personally, I prefer the quieter and more charming old city area where all the historic sites are located. The winning combination is topped up with the friendliness and helpful staff (reception specially Gökhan Avcı, porter, and restaurant staff) of the hotel where everyone is so helpful. Breakfast spread is excellent. Rooms though a little small are very clean and very nicely designed

So my husband and I booked a room through booking.com and were upgraded when we checked in which was nice. Personally, we still found the room to be tiny. Do pick the room with the park view if you plan on staying in the room. Since we wanted to see Istanbul it didn't really matter much to us because we'd leave early morning and be too tired when we came back. House keeping and staff were great, the hotel was clean and the rooms well designed.

The hotel was a minutes walk from the Askray- the tram stop so that was convenient after a day of walking.

The best feature of the hotel was their staff (from the bell boy to the receptionist, GoKhan) who were polite and very helpful and def one of the reasons why we opted for Ramada again on our way back.

Its a 30 minutes drive from the airport. Longer during traffic hours so leave early then. The taksi will take around 40 lira.

Room Tip: Pick the room with the park view although joint rooms are not exactly sound proof so we could hear t...

My husband and I stayed for 8 nights and we have no regrets. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, only the heater was available but the weather was still cool so we just opened the windows and that helped. This may not be a luxury hotel but the personable, friendly, accommodating staff was priceless and made our stay in Istanbul all the more satisfying. Whenever we needed something they were quick to respond. The complimentary breakfast was enough to keep us going till late in the afternoon. It included scrambled eggs, Turkish omelette, sausage, cereal, yogurt, cheese, cold cuts, bread and all kinds of drinks.
It was fairly easy to get to from the Airport. Take the Metro and get off at the Aksaray station which is the final stop. Exit at the East entrance and walk a few blocks to Gencturk street and make a left. From Gencturk you turn left on a narrow side street which is Sirvanizade. It took us about 20 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel as we had to maneuver through the heavy human traffic on the main street. Once you get on Gencturk, it's an uphill climb so it can be a bit challenging if you have more than 2 rolling baggages.
It is within walking distance from the Spice Market, the Grand Bazaar, and the Lalei station where you can catch the tram going to the Sultanamet district, Taksim square, and Chora Church.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff: Ozlem, Gokhan, Ilhein, Gokhan, Emre, and Eda. We don't have the names of everyone we met but they were all very kind. We highly recommend this hotel.
