It took us some time to find the hotel - the location is confusing for people not familiar with the city. Finally found a local lady to guide us the hotel. The hotel though was very good with wonderful view of the Bosphorus! The staff was very friendly and the service was good. The hotel room amenities were upto the mark too! Quite pleased with the stay and will recommend to friends!

The hotel is in the Taksim district which is a beautiful and life area of the city and offers superb views of Marmara sea and the Bosphorus. It's 5-10 mins ferry port walking for those how likes to hike and on the Powell-Hyde cable car line making access around the city simple and safe.

The rooms are an apartment feel, both well appointed and maintained with laundry facilities on site and an overall small friendly feel as appose to a busy mainstream hotel. There is public parking on site which is useful and the staff very helpful

we spent there 5 days in december 2013, with my gf.. And it was totally fantastic, the room, the view, welcoming and helpful staff(special thanks to Ozy).. They did everything to make us feel comfortable.. It is not like a simple hotel room, imagine it as you rent a flat(we stayed in superior suit).. Equipments are totally enough to cook by yourself.. And cleaning service was topping.. Each room also has access to the terrace which has a panoramic bosphorus view, give a try both in day and night time (:
Nearby lots of cafes, restaurants and taxi station..
Urban suites totally worth what it costs and dont think there is a better place around in Istanbul(i say it as a local citizen)..
Thanks again to all staff for friendly attitutes and being polite..
Highly recommended

This place is awesome, prestine clean, fantastic decoration with great taste, excellent views of the Bosphorous river, great shower, excellent service and everything is available for the small kitchen. It even has a washer/dryer to wash clothes. The kids loved this place, it was our home for a few days. It is close to the metro and Taksim square and near charming streets of the neighborhood. Right across the place is a playground for kids, which worked out well for our family. Also, around the block there are a few grocery stores where you can get anything you need. The staff is helpful and awesome. We recommend this place to everybody, it is a truly hidden gem in Istanbul and family friendly.

We stayed at Urban Suites for a week mid November and found it very comfortable with all we needed. Staff always there night and day and without fail helpful, interested and ready to offer every assistance they could. From the outside this building appears just another anonymous Cihangir building. Internally a great deal of thought has gone into the design and decor which is first rate. The apartment was spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. Can't agree with Franz21 review that "the bedroom is incredibly tiny". We had the same suite. The bedroom is not overly spacious but there is ample room for two people with normal luggage. The 'open' wardrobe is sufficient though perhaps a bit on the high side for the average person to hang clothes. The bed was extremely comfortable and superior to many I have experienced in supposedly 4 and 5* hotels. Breakfast is not included but that is not unusual in city centre hotels charging more than this these days and why eat in when there are an abundance of local cafes nearby offering a generous and appetising selection of local fare.
We'll be back. Thank you for an emjoyable stay.

We really wanted to like this place, as it came strongly recommended by some friends who stayed here a couple of weeks earlier, but some things just did not work out for us:

• Our suite had a generous living space, but the bedroom was incredibly tiny! With one suitcase e two small bags in the bedroom we could barely move around the bed;
• As a result, the room felt cramped and claustrophobic - the door would not stay open and there is no window as such (see the attached picture, there is a super small window which does not really open), so lack of light in the room (depressing).
• Storage space is ridiculously small and the wardrobe has no doors, so everything is on show. Combine this with the size of the room and it looks like a bomb just exploded in the room scattering your clothes around. Not nice.
• The sea view was… well, less than partial. Instead, we would gaze out the window and see a small park full of dogs – we love dogs, but the park is nothing worthy or fascinating (see pic)
• The area: ok, full of cafes and restaurants, but not necessarily charming or interesting architecturally. Would rather stay elsewhere and come here just to eat/drink. Also, it is relatively close to main sites, but roads are so hilly that you'd probably take a taxi anyway, so I don't really see the added value of staying here location-wise
• No bar/restaurant/reception (the reception is a small cubicle on the lower ground floor)
• The rooftop terrace is pretty but hey – several floors up and a million stairs to get there (no elevator) + if you go to any of the million rooftop terraces of bars and restaurants in Istanbul you have the same view, even better
• Toiletries: cheap – strange in Istanbul
• Hair drier: useless, we had to ask for a proper one at the reception
• Breakfast not included in room rate

Sure, the décor is pretty, the room spotlessly clean and the staff quite nice, but I am sure there are, in this budget range, a lot of better choices, so I won't definitely be back and/or recommend it to anyone. All in all, if it cost 70-80 EUR per night maybe yes, but for 140 EUR per night (on a fully pre-paid package) with no breakfast included, I expected a lot more.
