“Lovely Boutique Hotel, Minor Snags”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

Premist is a very welcoming small hotel, with an exceptionally cordial and helpful staff. Rooms are generally well-appointed and very clean. Fantastic, spacious shower with amazing water pressure, and pampering Molton Brown toiletteries - a treat! Breakfast - rich and tasty, with good coffee - is served in a cosy, bright dining room. Aftrenoon tea and snacks are a nice touch. Location is very handy for several of the city's main attractions.
On the downside: my room (single) was small, and felt even smaller becuase of the huge, heavy drapes on all three windows. The bed was comfy, but there was no night (reading) lamp, and lighting in general could be brighter. Safe too small for my (small) PC. TV installed so that it was impossible to watch from bed. The chair is decorative but most uncomfortable to sit on. None of these comments are very important - just little things that can be easily improved.
On the whole - a very pleasant stay, and warmly recommended for couples and solo travellers seeking peace and quiet in the middle of a busy metropolis.

Room Tip: Single travellers - If possible, add a little extra and take a double room. You'll be more comfo...

The Premist Hotel is a quirkily decorated, boutique hotel in a perfect location, near the main mosques and Sultanhamet Square.

The staff on reception were so friendly and helpful, giving advice on getting around, and great restaurant recommendations.

I could not praise the hotel highly enough. The rooms are decorated in a quite colourful, ethnic style which is fun. The only criticism I would have is that there are not many places within the room to put things out such as toiletries.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room. We had apparently been upgraded to a Superior Room which was on the quiet road...

The location is GREAT. You are 5 min from Boshphrous, and 5 minutes away from Hajj Sophia (Sultan ahmed).

The staff are great and very helpful. there is a great terrace were you can have your breakfast in. As for the room, my only issue was with the cleanliness. I felt that the room was a little dusty (especially the bed cover). Once i took the bed cover off i was less itchy and irritated. my room was on the first floor which is really close to the reception area. You could literally hear the conversation which was happening at reception. Also in the morning you could hear people walking up and down the stairs. I didn't like the room i was put in, but i am sure the other rooms where much better off then mine- especially the ones on the upper floors. I wasn't able to move to another room since the hotel was fully booked.

If you don't plan to spend much time in the hotel, then this would be a good option. Great deal for the location you are in.

Room Tip: Dont choose the rooms on the ground floor.

Great location in the old city, with the key tourist sights right on the doorstep.

Friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent breakfast with large choice.

My single room not huge but clean and comfortable with good bed, though missing a bedside table and bedside lamp. Hot water and air con broke down once each but were quickly fixed.

A good choice. What makes it superb is the friendliness of the staff. Let them have the responsibility for telling the wordl what service mean and hotel life will change. They know all about service from morning breakfast cofee until late arrival after a night out. Charming all the way.

Reviewed 30 April 2014

My wife and I stayed in this boutique hotel in April 2014. We were given room 3202, which was beautiful and roomy. (We paid for a Standard Room, and I do not know if this might be an upgrade?) The hotel is located directly across the street from the walls of Topkopi Palace and two blocks down hill from the Hagia Sophia and palace gates. The location is extremely convenient to all the attractions of the old city and is also close to the tram, which can take you to the Galata Bridge and the new city (Taksim, etc.).

As mentioned, the room was great, and the water pressure in the shower was also great. The staff were very kind and helpful during our time there. They were there to help out at any time. Probably my only complaint is that they spent too much time at the initial check-in telling us about the things they could help us arrange: we had been traveling for 24 hours, and we just wanted to get to our room. However, we may be unusual travelers compared to many they deal with, in that we quickly take to new cities and take care of all of our own arrangements for activities. We use public transportation, and only took a taxi two times in a week, and once was on the Asian side.

The included breakfast each morning was delicious and was a great start to each day. There was always fresh vegetables, meats, eggs, cheeses, olives, etc. on the bar. In addition, excellent omelets could be ordered, and the staff would also make a variety of coffee/espresso drinks. The staff put bottled water in our room each night and additional bottled waters were available at breakfast.

I was a little concerned to book this hotel prepaid just based on the good reviews here, but we certainly have no regrets that we booked this hotel. Everything about it was great.

We came from Italy to visit some friends of us living here, they gave us some good names of hotels to book, none of them had the good score as the Premist has on Tripadvisor! Situated in the heart of the old town Sultanahmet, is well located for a classical tour of Istanbul. Very good breakfast, very clean, very nice staff, very Ottoman!!!!
